    It's November 11. Please remember somebody today, even if it's not someone you know personally. Here's something with the dad of a friend of mine at 0:52.

    If Amber has anything to say about it!!! ;)

    There are a lot of veterans in my life, but I texted love to #1 & #2, my Dad & my brother, who were both Army.

    Oh, Chyntuck, you'll appreciate this... my mom actually found old V-mail between my great-grandmother & her son, my late Uncle Joe. One includes his letter to her after he was wounded. He was a turret gunner and took a load of shrapnel right in the seat. He was complaining that he wasn't going to be able to tell anyone where he was wounded or show them the scar (and reassuring her that it wasn't too bad & she shouldn't worry). By the time he was recovered enough to go back to duty, the war in Europe was over.

    Uncle Joe was a gunner on B-25s in the Mediterranean campaign... was on one of the air raids over Monte Cassino and said the worst ack-ack he remembered was Paestum. "They shot the hell out of us over Paestum!"

    Mistress_Renata, your Uncle Joe probably knew this old joke: It was a rough mission. First, the nose gunner got shot in the nose. Next, the tail gunner got shot in the tail. Then the waist gunner was hit in the waist. The chin turret gunner was shot in the chin. Then the ball turret gunner bailed out. [face_laugh]

    And on a more serious note, here's something that always speaks to me:

    An Irish Airman Foresees His Death
    By WB Yeats

    I know that I shall meet my fate
    Somewhere among the clouds above;
    Those that I fight I do not hate,
    Those that I guard I do not love;
    My country is Kiltartan Cross,
    My countrymen Kiltartan’s poor,
    No likely end could bring them loss
    Or leave them happier than before.
    Nor law, nor duty bade me fight,
    Nor public men, nor cheering crowds,
    A lonely impulse of delight
    Drove to this tumult in the clouds;
    I balanced all, brought all to mind,
    The years to come seemed waste of breath,
    A waste of breath the years behind
    In balance with this life, this death.

    My dad is ex navy, the 6th generation in his family. His dad was WW2 his granddad WW1 and dad was Vietnam. We were in our kitchen at 11 yesterday and we all stood quietly reflecting (birds wouldnt shush!!!) but our guest seemed to not understand what was going on but she stood silently with my son. So many do not do it, so wrong. They gave their lives so we'd be free - lest we forget...

    We call it 'Remembrance Day' here ;)

    Man, I do not think I want to be present for all these character fights interactions. Mel's just keeping her head down and looking for the cafeteria at this point.

    Over here, originally, it was called Armistice Day, to celebrate the end of the War to End all Wars. We already had Memorial Day (a.k.a. Decoration Day) on the Calendar, because of the Civil War. So, May 30 commemorates the dead, those who gave their lives to defend our country, and Veterans' Day commemorates the living, those who serve and served our country. But it's good to remember all of them, the living and the dead.

    Oh, it won't be pretty! I know Max is going to want to head to the cafeteria, but I'm not sure she'll be able to stay awake that long.

    We've almost got another post ready. Taking down an Interdictor is a bit trickier than I thought!

    The junior loadmaster on my last combat crew posted this on FB yesterday. It was taken in the summer of '08, the morning after a night spent dropping leaflets on Bagdad. I'm 3rd from the left with the awesome 'stache. 2nd from the left was our crew's navigator and my roommate for 4 months in Iraq. He was killed in the crash of a firefighting plane a couple years after I retired. When it's time to remember good men who have laid down their lives, he's one of the first I think of. We miss you, Meat.

    I'll be offline for a couple days, and I look forward to catching up on lots of great updates when I get back. There's been a lot of really good writing in this game, so kudos to all, and extra kudos to Adalia-Durron for helping me kill off Paladin meaningfully. Thanks, Addy. Collaborating with you really helps me out.

    Not just Tapatalk doing it, board glitches are leading to duplicate posts everywhere and for everyone it seems. :p

    Should have the next update posted here soon. Not real happy with it, but at least it moves us forward.

    Epic? Not so much, felt rather rushed actually and I apologize for that. Trying to get through Hoth, (the plan was to end it by this week) so we can get the next chapter of the game set up and finally bring in the players who have been waiting in the wings very patiently all this time.

    Your update is awesome Bardan_Jusik! Just a question, can we take NPCs (and loadlifters :p ) on the Valkyria with us as we evacuate?

    Also Mostlymad just started the War of the Droids, and that promises to be more epic than the Galactic Civil War and the Vong War put together!
