I'd heard they were remaking Catch-22, but I didn't realize it was set during the Med campaign. I remember seeing a DVD of the old one, was Alan Arkin, wasn't it?

 

Man, I think Bardan_Jusik must be planning an insane amount of PC deaths next update with all of these new recruits.

 

Yes, Alan Arkin, Bob Newhart, and Art Garfunkel. Not the actors you'd expect to see in a WW2 bomber movie. But the film wasn't exactly what you'd expect a WW2 bomber movie to be like. I've seen it twice and still don't know what to make of it. But the B-25's are awesome. Filming was in the old days before CGI, and they were able to scrape up a whole squadron of B-25's and film them in flight. For airplane nuts like me, that makes it an amazing movie.

It begins! I know we'd already begun but we're all together now, so the fun can really start

 

Yes, as some of you have already noted, I've populated the Intrepid with a few notable NPCs. Very obviously I drew quite a bit of inspiration from the NuBSG, so I hope some of you were fans of that series. I do have plans for most of these so please remember they are not free use NPCs, that is treat them more as GM controlled player characters rather than your typical NPCs. I also edited the second post of the Shearing Shed to provide links to those NPC character sheets and provide a bit of organization/quick reference so folks don't get lost.

Also, y'all will note I've updated the game and as promised moved us forward two weeks to the "Introduction to the squadron". Feel free to fill in how your character's spent the last couple of weeks if you want to in your posts, or just start fresh with the briefing. Hopefully I'll break us up into easier to digest morsels soon (especially for tagging purposes) but for now everyone should be in the same room. Any questions, ask here or via PM. I'm just hoping I remembered everyone.

Regarding B-25s. Always been a favorite of mine (I always liked the variant with the added forward firing .50s ). There is one based nearby that always shows up for the Cleveland Air Show along with doing simulated bomb runs during the D-Day invasion re enactment out in Conneaut and it's a joy to see it flying around.

 

I could see my character having mentioned looking forward to a good cup of kahve and mentioning it on the flight back. So possibly befriend Foodie? At least on a basis of hitting him up for Kahve. As for anyone else I am open to suggestions

Looking at the char sheets, Zero & Max are very much alike in some ways. I have a feeling that (eventually) they're going to be good buddies and a very formidable team! I never got beyond the first episode of the new BSG, so no preconceived notions from me.
