OK, is there any way for me to get the sound working on X-Wing Collector's CD-Rom. The installation cannot detect a speaker. The game works, but no sound :(. Any help would be very nice.

    Which OS do you have?

Mine works, but I am using a 3 year old machine with Windows 98. I am not sure if it is Windows XP compatible.

P.S. I am having the same problem with Rebel Assault in Windows 98 and even if I try to run it on my machine in DOS. It does not like my sound card for some reason.

If you're running xp, you may need vdmsound. If you are running XP, let me know & I'll find you a link (or you could just google it up)...

VDMSound works on Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. It does not work on Windows 95, 98 or Me.

    :(

    Sorry!

One thing though, in your setup, have you tried all the combinatios of your irq etc? You need that right for the sound to work, and most modern PC's don't have that info
    readily available.

Thanks, I sort of got it working. Sorry for my sporadic posting, I spend most of my time in the Lit forums.

    Thanks again, :).
