Agreed. IMHO for something to be called an "alternate ending" it should actually be a different ending, not just a different take of the same thing. For a real alternate ending, check out the DVD of Joyride, it has about 5 or 6 alternate endings, one of which is 45 minutes long! The entire second half of the movie is different!

I think when they're saying "alternate endings"...they mean alternate endings for that particular character (in the case of Beast, Rogue, and Wolverine)...not alternate ending for the film itself. Rogue didn't get "the cure"...unlike in the final film...and Wolverine ended up leaving the school (in what is clearly a set up for the upcoming Wolverine film)...unlike the final shot of him, in which he is still there. The "New School Year Begins" alternate ending is an alternate ending for Beast...as he is at the school rather than giving a speech on television, unlike the final version of the film.

But I do see what you guys are saying...an "alternate ending" usually implies something mostly to totally different...but they're talking about character endings rather than film endings when they use the term "alternate ending"...and they are, in fact, radically different endings for each character in comparsion to what the final film is.

Ok, I picked up the Deluxe Edition in the tin, and I didn't get anymore than the regular deleted scenes.

By the way, this was one of the movies I couldn't make it to this summer, but I really enjoyed it. Much better made than I anticipated.

Did anyone else laugh their asses off at the preview for the Simpsons movie that's on this disc? I know that I did.

Homer: "AAHH! THAT'S MY WHIPPING ARM!!!"

I'm a pretty hardcore Simpsons fanatic (read: one of those people who's seen every episode like 10 times), so the answer is no. But it was better than the other Comic-Con clip

And did anyone get the Walmart Bonus Disc? I figured as long as I was going to get the half-ass job I might as well do it right, but there was a rather large discrepancy between my DVD program and the back. The back lists two little documentaries about the making of the film, but I have an hour long thing about their legacy that plays. Not sure what the deal is.

And yeah...I kinda...bought that edition, the Special Edition, and the tin one from Target.

I forgot about that part...too classic. I think this movie'll be much, much better than I thought it was going to be...

    Okay, I'm confused.

Here in Canada, I picked up the regular widescreen edition at my local Future Shop. The back of the box mentions an unspecified number of deleted scenes. When I play the disc, the menu shows 10 deleted scenes and 3 alternate endings.

So, based on what I've read on the last page, is the company offering replacement discs that include the extra deleted scenes, even though they had originally intended to hold those scenes back for a future release?

Did anyone buy the walmart version with the extra bonus disc? What it said would be on it on the back of the dvd was not what was on the disc, it was something else entirely, also there was no menu. I'm going to exchange it to see if there's any difference.

Thank you for answering me, sort of.

Mine's the same way, but it must be what they meant to put there since the documentary goes up to now. I guess the back was a mistake or the features weren't ready or something, but maybe we'll see them somewhere else.

I don't think I'll exchange mine now since it seems other people are having the same deal, and it's not like it's a bad documentary or anything, truth be told it's good.

I really like the Wolverine ending: it just seems more fitting for Wolverine to leave the team return to where he started out. I never really bought the whole building storyline of Wolverine becoming the leader.

I usually would slam this as a regression from character development, but Wolverine isn't supposed to change into the team leader - so this I prefer. There's something tragic and comforting at the same time about it: it reminds me of the ending in Casino: Where DeNiro talks about ending up right back at where he started.

Now that the first series is over, and (hopefully) a new series will begin with an all new story line and new members, does anyone else hope they ditch the black leather Matrix look? I'd love to see them keep the uniforms somewhat the same material, but change up the colors to better match their comic book counterparts. Superman, Spider-man, and even Daredevil and Elextra showed that audiences are ok with costumed characters even in today's cynical age. So keep the body armor look, but brighten it up. I want to see Wolverine in the old Orange and Browns I remember from my youth.

I got the standard dVD but thankfully it had all the deleted scenes. I thought the most interesting thing in the whole package is that in the Producers commentary Avi Arad confirmed an X4. I would personally like it with it centering on Iceman and Colloususs and them and hopefully a few others like Gambit and Longshot with Strom probably being the only returning major person except possibly Magneto depending on how much power he regains. Also Hugh Jackman stated once he made the Wolverine movie he was done with the character and they had best not recast hime, or anyone for that matter. If they do that there is no way they cant go the way of the first series of Batman films. If an Actor doesn't want to play a character they had better just not have they character. If they do that and introduce maybe Apocolypse as the main villian I think more installments could be pretty good.

I feel very cheated by the Collectors Edition DVD. I had assume it was a two disc set with lots of bonus features compared to the standard edition with would only be the film and a couple of extras. I was extremely disappointed to see that the Collectors Edition was just the standard version with a comic book and different cover. Now I'm kicking myself for not just buying the Walmart Exclusive with the bonus DVD.

Thankfully I lucked out and got ALL the deleted scenes and not just ten like some people.

I just saw this movie for the first time a few hours ago. My expectations for it were very low due to a lot of the reviews I heard for it over the Summer, but after seeing it I have to put it as my favorite of the trilogy. It was great. The Plot was great as was the action. I liked everything about it.

Also, is it extremly hard to notice the Chess Piece moving for Erik at the end? I rewinded it a couple times and I still couldn't notice it moving.

It moves, but just ever so slightly.

I feel pretty much the same as you. I passed on it during the summer, but decided to get the DVD, and it's now becoming my favorite of the three.

I'm guessing we won't hear anything officially from Fox for a few months. They'll want everyone to go out and buy the current discs before announcing that another version with more content is being released. They're thinking about the monies. [face_money_eyes]

If you look around the menus there's two easter eggs I think. One of The X-Jet going to Washington DC and one of Beast reading shakespeare. An easy way to find them is there are Two symbols an X for the xmen and an omega for the brotherhood now they appear three times on the other menu. (as in if you choose x-men menu throughout the menu there are 3 omega signs.) Highlight them and click on them: one changes it to the other menu and the other two are easter eggs. hope that helps.
