[Xbox 360|PC] Bioshock *spoilers*

I can't believe there isn't a thread for this. The trailer and demo was just released yesterday. Trailer is awesome and I'm in the process of downloading the demo now. Bioshock is one of those titles that I miust have the collectors edition for. That little figurine looks great.

So, what do you guys think if you've downloaded the demo already, and is anyone else excited about this?

Just updating to reflect the last few posts.

 

Considering how much I enjoyed the System Shock games, I'm pumped for this.

I saw a review a few days ago, got a really good score. Hopefully the promise is borne out.

 

I'm excited about this game, I'm downloading the demo right now.

I've pre-ordered myself the collector's edition, which has a neat looking Big Daddy figurine and soundtrack.

 

Any chance of seeing a PC tag on this thread as well?

Also, massive fan of system shock 2, etc, etc, really looking forward to it, blah blah.

 

An hour and a half later, and it's only at 63%.

I guess this is the drawback to Xbox Live's huge userbase.

 

I gave up last night on the demo after it had spent a hour at 43%. This seems to be a very popular demo. I'll try again tonight.

I'm sure millions of gamers like me are just dying to play an original shooter of any type since there's only been a few that have come out this year.

 

Mine got stuck about halfway, so I deleted it and started again, it seems to be going ok now.

 

Does anyone know if this is Vista only?

 

I've heard that Microsoft are phasing out the Vista-exclusive licenses. Also, I've heard that BioShock is fully DX9 compatable, so I assume it will be released ready for XP.

 

I have the demo. It's absolutely fantastic. In my opinion-looks better than Gears of War.

 

^For a triple-A title coming out 9 months after Gears, it certainly should.

We know. Solo was just wondering if it'll play on XP. Which it will, so long as you have SP2.

 

Just got done playing the demo not too long ago as well. Pretty freakin sweet stuff right there. Definitely going to be pre-ordering that collectors edition. Soundtrack sounds great and the little figure looks cool. The powers in the game are too awesome for words. I really hope this game is long since there's no multiplayer.

Oh yea and can a mod edit the tag for PC, since my editing time ran out.

 

Wow, the demo actually made me forget about Mass Effect for about 30 minutes.

Pre-ordered the collectors edition and put 40 down on it. Now, I won't feel so bad paying the straight up 80 for it or something like that if I didn't.

I'm thinkin of playing through that demo again. Its just too good.

 

I just downloaded the demo, very cool. I loved the style of an underwater art deco city.

 

Yes, and the 40s style music gave it an awesome atmosphere. The whole concept is quite refreshing for a FPS.

You can "unlock" the hard difficulty by accessing your console settings and changing your default preferred difficulty to "hard". I haven't done it, so I can't say for sure that it will work.

 

Wow, I didn't even know you could do that in the console settings.

 

Gamesradar.com snagged one the TRU leaked copies and posted a full review.

They gave it a 10/10, and they don't give many 10s.

 

I've heard of the reports of leaked TRU copies. Someone posted about it on NeoGaf with pics. I'm kinda tempted to go out and say try and find it; but I pre-ordered the collectors edition and I think I can wait.

I was re-playing the demo last night and its definitely got a very cool atmosphere, the music definitely adds so much more to the experience. I think Big Daddy might be the first game character to actually haunt my dreams.

I don't know what else I can say about this game, except that its going to be uber-awesome.


Also, I find it amazing that GamesRadar can get through the game so quickly and give a decent review without it being rushed.
