Oh ****! Earlier, I thought I came to the end of those falling Mario holes (which are to the right when starting), but when I went left from the start and eventually came to another underground passage, the network of passages eventually led me right far enough past the starting point underground, where I discovered that the end of the Mario holes is really a giant underground cavern with a- get this- a small cemetary, a bunch of tropical tents like at a beach, and some kind of UFO.

 

Oh ****, I will never be able to see everything in that panel.

 

Whoa. Did anyone try looking underneath the water? There are at least some jellyfish down there.

 

Eh, it'd actually be more of a close competition than you'd think.

 

If you were to place the XKCD comic out like that, though, it would stretch for miles.

 

Except that's then an enlarged version of the original panel, not this panel itself. This panel itself is about a football endzone. Though, yes, if someone were to redo the entire thing at that resolution, it would be an easy winner.

Edit: I'm aware that seems needlessly pedantic, but have you read the judging criterion on these things? It's needlessly pedantic.

 

I was almost late for work this morning because I got lost in the underground portion. And I was entirely too excited, and yet not at all surprised, by the Super Mario portion.

Reading peoples' reactions to this is the best part. Don't know how many times I saw it posted on facebook.

I opened it before I left for work this morning, and it looks like I have plenty left to find! Rest of evening = gone.

I saw this thread and went on to see the strip from my cel but when I realized what I was seeing, I couldn't believe it. I can't wait to get home and start exploring that absolutely insane and brilliant "panel".
