I'm glad you like the word "Laldy".

Yeh, I found that ANH line by line in Weigy - I nearly died laughing - its an absolute classic.

There's certainly far more humour on this forum than any other I lurk on here.

oh, I know exactly who the 'Auld Enemy' is, so no worries there. I did a 3 three stint in "Guffland" before I moved here. Erm, here is Washington DC, Yankland.

I lived in Aberdeen and Stonehaven till I was 22.

ESB was the first evre movie I saw in the cinema. The Odean cinema on Justice Mill Lane, right next door to the Bon Accord Baths.

*slaps your forhead for the mere suggestion*

most americans here know that we hate the English - we need to give them more credit.
Oh, and TeamUSA was in the world cup 4 hours longer than the English :)

Am I allowed to make a joke about lobbing seaman from 30 yards on this forum ?

OOOOOOO A fellow Aberdonian! How could you live in Stonie though? ;)

Did you leave here after they got rid of the Odeon on Justice Mill Lane? They knocked it down not long ago, though it was closed for a lot longer

I can't believe that closed the Odeon in Aberdeen :( *and* knocked it down :( does the Bon Accord Baths still exist ? I learned to swim there

I have so many fond memories of the Odeon. I saw OT there (and again for the SE), and my first ever date with a girl was a trip to that cinema. (It was Jurassic Park, and I was 16)

I blame that bast**d Branson for opening that huge multiplex down on the beach.

How could I live in Stoney ? Well, the house prices were less than half that of Aberdeen, the night life was ok, and it was only a train ride away from Aberdeen. (or a 10 minute bullet ride down the 'dueler' in my Ford Sierra).

Ah, those were the days. I'm a proper grown up now though :(

Good to see a fellow sheepshagger on the forum. :D oh, I get scottish premier football twice a week here, which is more than I can say for terestial tv in the UK.

    Hope all is well

Of course the Bon Accord baths are still there - they will be there until the end of time ;)

I was down past the old Odeon the other day, they've started building something there but I couldn't for the life of me fathom out what it was!

I hate driving round that big bend at Stoney though, I always think that the car is gonna topple (prolly cos I'm always going too fast ;))

That bend you are referring to is called "The Muchalls Bend" (cause its near Muchalls), many a boy-racer have sped round that bend in their XR2s in attempt to beat the record. (erm, but not me, honest)

It is a mighty scary bend.

    Why am I here ?

I'm here to teach those softy yanks how to drink properly :)

na, to be honest, I just got a PhD in Pharmacology (developing new medicines), and I'm here working for the US Government getting some excellent experience. I intend to return after my time here (two years) and take up a permanent position in the UK.

Nae bad for a loon fae Garthdee.

I'll most probably be in or around London as thats where the jobs are. Oh, and that where my girlie friend lives, and, erm, yeah, she's English :( *hides shame*

Thanks for asking :) its nice to see that there is actually some socialising on this forum (they are really dull on the yank forums)

    Yes indeedie.

I did do my first degree in Pharmacology in Aberdeen - was the best years of my life. I did the PhD in London at a lesser known place called the University of Hertfordshire.

yeh, I do unspeakable things for the yankee dollar - its fun here, but I'll be happy to return.

Got to dash, my gf is flying in today for 10 days holiday. Expect not to see me on these boards for the next couple of days ;)

    laters all
