I sleep. Just not tonight much...or last week much. But last week had to do with work. Stupid sales that opened the damn store at unnatural hours. I really have to get out of retail.

You're not the only one in my work place(Odoen Cinema) they put me in the Cash desk
for something like Nine hours standing up.
Anyone caught sitting is automatically gets a disipline.

 

And as far as sleeping pills or pain pills, I can't shake the effects after I take them. I'm a zombie for well over 24 hours.

 

That sounds harsh. Surely you must get a break? It's the law, right?

you'd get a break doing that. Even I have to do that though longest I have had to stand is for a 5 hour shift which you only get a 15 min break doing.

 

Year I do get a break but only half an hour
and their is shortages in my till.

You know some manaerges think they are above the laws.

 

Actually, I read an article that counting sheep doesn't help you sleep but keeps you awake instead. Apparently it's too boring to keep your mind on for a long enough period of time so you end up not being able to relax. Makes me feel much better. I thought I was just a sheep counting failure. They say that instead of counting sheep you should picture a peaceful waterfall or something. I usually just tell myself a fairy tale. You know, like when your parents used to read to you but create like a disney movie in your head? Odd, I know but it works.

well I dont normally work standing for 5 hours normally for 3 hours, whcih I dont get a break for at all

 

I don't remember what the details of the law are here but I do know that if you work eight hours, you get an hour lunch.

 

yeah by law your suppose to have a hour I believe

 

I thought it was 5 mins for every hour and an hour lunch for a full day.

so, if you work an 8 hour day you get and hour lunch and 2 20 min breaks.

dunno how accurate that is but that's how it was where I used to work.

the weekend's drinking always upsets my monday, tuesday night sleep...

friday, saturday, sunday, your body gets used to falling asleep thru alchohol and spliff, and then Monday , Tuesday, you go to bed straight and just lie there, staring at the roof, thinking to yourself "if I have to get up and have a wee whisky to get me to sleep, am I an alchoholic?"

best answer I've found is to go to the gym and get knackered and sweat the evil substances out of your system.

Usually manage a good nights sleep wednesday just in time for the pre-weekend pub visit on Thursday.

Gordy...I recommend EVERYTHING there. Its a snazzy lil Italian with a bistro-stylee café as you go in and a post restaurant downstairs. Me and Jon always eat in the Bistro. The pasta is fantastic, as are the Pizza's. Portions are big too and its dead reasonable.
