Yahoo Groups

for those of you who aren't familiar with yahoo groups, i'm just going to summarize some of the options we have with our group...

chat-and what is the net without chatting? if we needed to have an emergency meeting or something along those lines, this may be a good way of meeting up...

files-jennifer has already made us acquainted with this one....if you'd like to upload files to shares such as mp3's, this is the place you can do it.

photos-we have our own photo album! awww...

bookmarks-got a link to share with the group?

database-now this will be helpful if we want to get to the point where we have a database (viewable by members only) where we can share contact information such as e-mail addresses and phone numbers...

polls-fairly self explanatory.

calendar-this may be helpful for the planning of future events....when you post something to the calendar, a message is sent to the list.

i realize that a lot of these features can be done on the board as well, but i just thought i'd make you all aware of the fact that these are available.

and once again, if you'd like me to add you to the list, just send me a private message and i'll get you on there asap.

 

FYI - There is a 2 meg limit on uploading files. I tried to upload a video I found called "Jabba on the Dais" (amusing, if nothing else).

Cool... yeah I was messing around with that last night, very cool features there.

 

That reminds me, I just uploaded some more pictures to the Yahoo Groups thing.

I went to look at my profile through the group, and it told me that my profile was in the "Adult Profiles" area and gave a warning message about adult content.

Are they trying to tell me something?

I have no idea what I did different that you guys, I just thought it was amusing.

LOST: Got to YahooGroups (on Yahoo.com) and do a search for FFDEN, that's us. Request a membership & TD will put you into the list. We can use this to have an open chat during the meeting Sunday, upload all of our pictures & some files, as you can see from the ones already up there. Reminds me, I'll have to see if I can upload the "JarJar's Screentest" movie, too funny. Look @ TD's description at the top of this thread for more, plus I think there are links there too.

ok I went to yahoo and did the seach and came up with nothing,

 

Okay, I'll try this again, slowly.

Go to Yahoo

Click on the Index where it says Groups/Clubs

In the search field, type "FFDEN"

If you haven't subscribed to the group it will ask if you want to, and then subscribe.

You'll have to wait until you have been approved, since we have a restricted group.

After thay, you should be able to get in and look @ & upload pictures, download & upload files and send a notice email to all currently subscribed members, as well as look at the old messages.

Thanks Obi_W, I haven't even tried to figure out links yet, I just got the hang of emoticons.

 

yahoo bites I got all set up but it wont let me into our page it just keeps asking me for my user name and pass word I enter it and it ask's for it again. I dont like it, to much hassle. sorry I think I will just stick to the posting borads.

 

Do you have your cookie disabled, that might be a reason? Anybody else have a clue?
