I can't help but think this will work out as poorly for the Yankees as the move did for the Boston Celtics.

Still, a toast to Yankee Stadium!

If that means the Yanks go 22 years with out a championship like the Celtics did, then I'm all for the move! ;)

History has been known to repeat itself, and after the renovation was completed back in the 70's the Yankees were World Champions that same year.

It didnt affect me last night fully until the bottom of the 8th, when they showed Mo warming.

I thought I was the only one who read Paul Lucas' blog. :p
He's just a bitter Mets fan like AmazingB.

At least they're keeping the name of the stadium and not selling the naming rights to the new stadium to some corporation.

The old time stadium names (in other sports as well) have a certain magic to them.

As I've said before, the stadium's tie to Ruth, Gehrig et al has always been a bit tenuous for me because of the renovation. For me, it's the memories of dynasty of the late 90s that mean so much.

Don't imagine that there is this much farmland in the Bronx anymore. :p

    Awesome picture.

And the answer is a resounding "no".

Though there is a park, and several parking lots.
