    Prelude

It was a dark and stormy night. When it rained on Gorath, it rained powerful and long. Two dark hooded figures walked with purpose off the shuttle and onto the landing platform as raindrops fell hard against the ground around them.. It had been mere hours since their subordinates had informed them of their latest capture, and upon hearing that news they immediately departed for the facility.

A short, blue skinned, bug eyed, four armed alien greeted them at the entrance. The two human figures removed their hoods and revealed their faces. The taller one was a beautiful woman with flowing black hair. She had a wrinkle or two under her eyes that showed her years, but that did not overshadow her stunning beauty. The shorter one was a man, but he was not quite as beautiful as his counterpart. He was bald, had a big ugly scar where his right eye used to be, and could only use the left side of his mouth when he spoke. He could easily be mistaken for a bum, or maybe even a loathsome pirate, but the truth was that he was a deadly dark warrior, just as his partner was.

"My lords," the alien chirped. "We have the package waiting for your final approval in the holding area."

Packages, thought the woman to herself, is that what we are calling them now?

"Have all the proper precautions been taken?" the man asked with a slight slur.

"Of course," the alien promptly responded. He then pulled a metallic hilt from his white lab coat and placed it in the hands of the man. "We lost quite a few mercenaries on the raid, but none of our people were hurt. It proved to be quite a challenge to take him down, as with the rest of them, but we were successful and all our other usual precautions have been executed."

"Excellent," the man chuckled. He observed the hilt for a second or two before summoning the bright blue blade to life. He looked up at the lightsaber blade as if it were the first time he had noticed the beauty of one. He took a second to appreciate it and listen to the hum before turning it back off. The woman just looked at the man, half with disgust and half with admiration. There was no doubt that she hated him, but she also had no doubt of the necessity of his cause. He was a means to an end, one that was rapidly approaching with the capture of this latest package.

"Take us there." She ordered. The alien bowed and lead them down the twisted corridors towards their destination. The halls were silver and sterile, giving a very cold, evil feel to the entire place. The alien reached the end of a hall way and pointed up to a small, round window.

"In there," he pointed with his skinny blue finger. The bald man peered through first and a hideous smile covered his face as he viewed the package.

"Only two more to go," he said as he moved away. "This phase of the plan is almost complete."

"I don't have to remind you, my lord, that we have already begun the second phase," the alien meekly put in, as if begging for recognition of his contributions.

"Yes, of course," the man replied, brushing past him and heading back towards the entrance. "All is proceeding according to plan."

The woman watched him walk away and listened to his evil laugh bounce off the walls, wondering what she had become in aligning herself with him. But it was too late to change any of that now, she was in too deep and she believed in what she was doing. She turned around and looked through the window. There she saw a young Jedi Knight, his hands bound behind his back and his eyes and mouth sewn shut. He had been obviously weakened, but he was still struggling and bleeding from the wounds on his face. It was not pretty sight. The woman pulled back from the window, she did not like seeing them suffer like this. She felt her stomach turn and her knees weaken.

"Do we have your final permission?" The alien
