I asked this on another thread, but no-one answered.

How do they work out if a character is going to be red, Blue or Green. Is there a pattern, or is it fairly random. I've noticed that Jedi tend to be red, but that's all I can work out ;)

I don't think there is any real pattern intended. Who goes in which color set is more for game-balance than anything else. That's just what I think though.

If you notice while looking at groups of characters. You will note the following:

    Red: 5 or 6 power
    Blue: 3 or 4 power
    Green: 1 or 2 power

Now, I don't presume to say that ALL characters have those powers within those ranges but rather, most of them do.

I guess you could say the following is almost always true:

    Red: 1-6 power
    Blue: 1-4 power
    Green: 1-2 power

The only exception is Anakin where I guess you would 'average' his power to 3-4.

So, when Designing a card, I'm sure Decipher says: "What 'power' do I want this character to be?" 5? Then it will be a Red Character for sure. etc... etc...

So You can see why the Jedi are almost all Red characters. Power.

    I hope this helps.
