Kinda cool, but 100 bones is a lot to ask for a pice of petrified wood that small.

I've actually seen petrified wood go for a whole lot more then that for smaller. I guess it depends on the quality and age.

and whether or not there is a fossilized yoda in it ;)

It doesn't look anything like Yoda.

That's so awesome! And $100 is pretty on the mark for retail price for petrified wood bookends. My family business has been selling them for years, but unfortunately no Yoda fossils for us, hehe.

Especially in wood that's turned to stone. I can definitely see the likeness though. Looks like Yoda's tubby brother, Bloata.

I dont think this is man made, the auction implies that this is a "natural phenomena".

    Pretty amazing!

No, it's not manmade...just a lucky find. It's just a random natural pattern in the wood. You can find similarly interesting patterns in agate slabs and bookends. My dad likes to collect rocks/minerals/fossils with faces or other interesting features on them from our family's store. Every time I come home he's got something new, hehe. :)

I was being facetious in my comment about carving. That would be a cool find though.

Yep, although I hate our website: http://www.vrockshop.com. You can't buy anything there (the site is mostly for wholesale customers), but if you click on "products" you can see a whole bunch of stuff. :)

Now that looks pretty cool. :)

At least I can see Yoda in it. My first impression, though, is a one-eyed monster of sorts.

I must be weird, I saw him right away. Of course it's not picture perfect, but I think the resemblance is incredible. The ears are the only part that look off to me. If I had the money I'd bid. I like having strange things in my collection. :)

Yeah, now that you said it, I can see the one eye monster too.

But I just cant get over the face and the little arms with the big sleeves :)

Yoda was definitely the first thing I saw!
