I dunno, Binary... I think there is something to be said for Yoda living among the natural world like on Dagobah. He does seems sort of out of place on a sterile world like Coruscant. I think there could be something really cool about a mysterious and almost religious journey that the most dedicated of all Jedi take to visit Yoda in his monastic retreat on Dagobah. Some of these recent threads about reworking the PT and stuff could really use such an awesome idea.

No post is too old, no edit too late.

I totally asked around because I felt sort of weird editing a flame from 7 years ago, but the consensus was that I should... Oh well, it's all in a days work I guess. ShaneP I am glad you are enjoying this thread. I hope to bring back a few more fun ones.

I chuckled for a minute there, Stri.
I can't imagine the anxiety from hitting the SEND button on those PM's.

*For what its worth and just the same; I totally would have consulted my peeps.:p

This thread is so old, no user-names show up in the recent post box.
    [face_laugh]

And Stri, I was talking about Pm-ing peeps for advice on making the ancient edit.
But you got me with the retro-active ban, I laughed out loud and then stopped as I scrolled down.

Now that I've thought about it, you should ban him.
    Prolly wouldn't know it anyways.:p

Yeah that recent replies thing is a known bug with some old threads. It's really weird looking. It makes me aware of how much I use that feature now.

I stand by my (much) earlier post in this thread.

I will add this: With the release of Episode 3, I can more easily see the character arc that many were discussing here. (and from this perspective, several years later, it's clear that that is what Lucas was doing with the character) However, I think that the differences between Yoda's character in the prequels and the OT could (should?) have been a bit more defined from the beginning. Yes, eventually, we see him fight and see him be dogmatic and such. But in TPM, this wasn't totally obvious, and even in AOTC, he is depicted as a benevolent wise old man who teaches cute kids and spouts koans. Obviously we want him to be a sympathetic character, but as it stands, the differences in his character between the beginning and end of the PT are so slight that it just leads to some confusion.

Same here. But the fact that this thread doesn't have that still irks me. :p
