Yoda's Fight Scene in AOTC.

Come on. How many of you geeked out when you saw Yoda drop his cain?

That scene was by far my favorite of the entire movie and I can't wait to see Yoda get down again.

 

the theater went in an uproar..i was...i remember the feelign i had..it was like no other feeling i had had before...like extreme joy lol..dude i'm trying to picture myself watching it..and i see my self jumping in my seat lol....

thats not what i did..but thats what it felt like

I loved it.. but its not a very rewatchable scene..its like..a once in a lifetime experience watching it the first time

 

Ya, everybody in the audience got exited. You could feel the energy.

It was awsome.

 

I thought it was fun but as another person said, not very rewatchable for some reason.

But the theater did go nuts.

 

Very few in the theatre with me seemed all that interested in the film. There were hardly any responses to the movie at all, but when Yoda walked onscreen, there were lots of whispers.

 

I thought it was rewatchable.

I just watched AOTC today, and I thought it was great.

There was too much CGI, but it was understandable.

 

I remeber watching it at the world premiere. There was this gigantic roar. It was absolutely brilliant.

Everyone was quite... and then everyone started clapping and yelling...

And no one seemed to mind.

It was awesome.

Its too bad the audience I was in wasn't really in the interactive experience mode The secnod time I watchd it in the theaters, the crowd was much more loose, it felt. Everyone burts out in laughter when Obi-Wan said "This is why I hate flying" and "Good job." Possibly also "I hate it when he does that" but I;m not sure.

 

To steal the term coined by Matt Stover: I had a "geekgasm".

 

My friend next to me started laughing as soon as Yoda got his sabre out and continued to do so until he had finished his duel with Dooku. That kind of distracted me from the rest of the audience's reaction. At the time I wasn't really sure about the fight, but now I think it would probably have been better if Lucas had left it out. I enjoy the battle the two have using their force powers but I think Yoda's use of the lightsabre is just too OTT.

 

I couldn't help myself from laughing the first time I saw it. That's not a bad thing, each time I've seen it since I've thought it's awesome. It's just that I wasn't spoiled before AotC and the very concept of Yoda using a lightsaber made me giggle a bit.

 

I loved and still love that scene.

 

Yeah, I geeked out alright. But so did the entire theater so it wasn't that bad.

 

I geeked out. The only other time I did that was in the second trailer when it revealed that Palps uses his own lightsaber and will fight.

 

I have my pants from that night hung up over my desk next to a picture of Yoda. You can still see the stains. I felt there was a somewhat frivolous novelty about it that was particullarly fun for anyone (pretty much everyone who has a vcr) that remembered the original puppet yoda from the old ones. Similar to how seeing Darth Maul wielding a double bladed lightsaber was such a kick. A delightful bubblegum. The flavor's gone now, but I enjoyed it while it lasted.

I agree, but I'm pretty sure he'll get a little more fight time in ROTS.

So do you all think Yoda and Dooku were an even draw in that fight?

Yeah I can remember vividly the crowd in my theatre cheering when that scene started. It was great. You can really see how Lucas took all of his frustration out on having to settle with a crappy puppet for the other three!

I agree.

 

At first I thought it was stupid, but now it's my favorite scene in the film.

 

Is Yoda a better duelist than Anakin in the ROTS though? Even if Anakin loses to Obi Wan (sorry if you didn't know, but surely you have been bombarded by the spoliers already)

 

I've always wondered if Anakin was better then Yoda. Yoda would've defeated Dooku in AOTC but in ROTS things change.
