    Fellow Sci-Fi/Fantasy Fans

You are invited to join us at the Twelfth Annual Tranquility Olympics in Rochester, NY, sponsored by the USS Tranquility. All clubs and Science Fiction/Fantasy fans are welcome to join us.

The Olympics will be held on August 07, 2005 at Pavilion #2 at Brighton Town Park off Westfall Road. Sci-Fi/Fantasy themed games will be held, each awarding a Bronze, Silver, and Gold medal.

Over the years we feel we have found a good mix of events that are enjoyable for everyone. We hope everyone will participate and compete for the Gold! A handbook will be provided to everyone at sign-in explaining each event and its rules.

This year's meal will be hamburgers and hot dogs. Water and other drinks will be readily available throughout the event, and a vegetarian meal will be available with advance registration. The main dish and drinks are covered in each individual's registration fee. Alcohol is not allowed in the park by county ordinance. There will be plenty of room so bring your family and friends! We are asking everyone to bring a dish to pass ? in order to add a bit of variety to our table. It can be a side-dish, dessert or snack food.

The registration fee is $2.50 a person, $1.50 for children under twelve. The registration fees will help pay for the food, refreshments and the site rental.

If you would like to register or have questions regarding the event, please feel free to drop us a line at olympics@usstranquility.com and we'll get back to you promptly.

The Deadline for mail in registration is July 31st, 2005.

Hi all, I'm the Current Captian of the Uss Tranquility. I hope that some of you will be able to join us for a day of fun. I know it's quite a trek (pun intended) for some of you. But there's some other stuff going on that weekend that might make you want to make the trip, for example, it's the 2nd to last weekend of the Sterling Renisance Festival http://sterlingfestival.com/renfest/ (actually, I'll be going to that on the 6th) , It's also our Park Ave Summer Arts Festival weekend http://www.rochesterevents.com/parkave.html .

This could be a great oppertunity to check out Rochester's Newest Toy the CAT!
