    Hi

OK so in TESB, Luke asks Yoda if the Dark Side is stronger, he replies "No, quicker, easier, more seductive"

So by this, it would seem that the Dark Side is not stronger,

yet now other films are showing the Dark Side to seem stronger

TPM - Darth Maul beats a Jedi Master

In revenge of the Sith, Anakin can only defeats Dooku when he starts using the Dark Side

Darth Sidious wiping Three Jedi within seconds

Even in RotJ, Luke is only seen to beat Vader after Vader goads Luke into the Dark Side using his sister

So why is the Dark Side stated to be not so powerful, but then shown to be more powerful?

I think the Dark Side, in terms of brute strength and power, is the stronger of the two. It?s also the easier to master. The Light Side, however, is much more rewarding and is for the stronger-willed.

This. And I think Yoda's statement that it's "quicker and easier" explains the incidents mentioned above. It was Yoda's way of saying that it's stronger--from a certain point of view. At that point in Luke's training, I'm not sure he could have handled the idea that, "Yes, the Dark Side is physically more powerful, but at a price."

It's sort of like in real life....it's usually a lot easier to do the wrong thing than it is to do the right thing in certain situations.

Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering, and suffering leads to greed, which is the dark side itself. One doesn't even need to be a Force-user to be a dark sider.

Greed, the greatest of motivators, can lead to "UNLIMITED POWER", but this comes at the price of caution. Which is where this all started, wasn't it?

In terms of direct combat, the Dark Side is stronger, if only because it doesn't bear the burden of caring for others. As Anakin says in ROTS, "the Jedi care only for others" and "the Sith think inwards, only about themselves." The ideal that the Jedi strive for is to put galaxy first and act as servants for the populace. When it comes to achieving goals, however, especially goals that will involve fighting, they are impeded by their consideration for other beings. It's much easier to dominate or destroy your opponents when you are ambivalent towards casualties, when anyone and everyone is disposable.

In the long run, though, the Light Side prevails because it reaches out to others -- you can only oppress people for so long before they rise up to challenge you, as seen in the OT.

I took it to mean that nothing is possible through the dark side that is impossible through the light; it's just easier to do some things with the dark side.

For example, Yoda could lift just as heavy an object as Vader could, but Vader wouldn't have to find a way to route the Force's energy in a "natural" way and could just brute force it. Of course, this type of unrestrained usage exacts a terrible toll - you end up a shriveled, decrepit monster like the Emperor.

So the dark side is literally not any stronger; just easier, and to balance that ease, more dangerous.
