Channel 10 are going to start playing first season of Battlestar on Wednesdays in a few weeks. I'm sitting there half way through the second part of the mini-series saying " if this just ends half way through a story line, and they don't play the series til October or something I'm going to go insane!!" and then they say it's starting in a couple of weeks. Excited!

And for someone who hasn't seen Dead like me or Firefly this is my great series of the year I think..of course there are other things I think are good on TV right now... Australia's top model ( say nothing), Little Britain ( yes I'm converted), TV1 on Sunday nights, but Battlestar may just win me over for the year ( now that Sex and the City is over anyway)

Hey I'd have to agree with you Stormtrooper. I miss the UQ lake. Been about 10 years since I hung out there and it is one of the few places I ever felt comfortable at uni.

And Goob, it must have been about 6pm when you wrote that..I hope you weren't "iloooveeee youse all you Bundy products" type drunk by then!

 

I actually got attacked by a duck at the UQ lake the other day... It was one of the most amusing things I have ever seen.

ooooo GOOB!! I'm also in the process of buying another digital camera and my husband wants an SLR type one. I for one like simplicity, and really only want a 5 megapixel, reasonable cheap one..about 550ish..what's the ones you're thinking about getting worth?

Oh on the "gadget show" on fox last night they gave this great web address where you can compare products, and he had all these didgital cameras with the same photo they'd taken so you could compare..WHAT WAS THAT SITE NAME????

Anyway..mm good quality digital cameras..must be good!

 

Kahlan, Digital SLRs aren't cheap yet. I ended up getting the Nikon D70 with an 18-55 lens and a 55-300 lens... then you have to consider lens filters, memory cards (with a Digital SLR 512mb is a minimum!), camera case, and you're looking at a lot of money.



I'm in awe of a workmate who just bought the top-of-the-line Canon D20 for, get this: $2700 before lenses, memory and the rest! I paid, um, shall I say, around 2k. But I bargained hard. Playing stores against each other can be fun.

 

He better be doing more with it than taking happy snaps then for that price. Any standard camera is more than good enough if that's all you want it for after all.

 

uummm I would tend to disagree with that statement G for when it comes to cameras I look at it like I look at computers you dont want to pay a small price and get crap... no you dont want middle line crap either cause all you will do is bitch an moan that you wish you wernt so damn chaep cause if you want quality you got be prepared to pay quality

Yeh but it's like there's no point in getting a G5 with a 30" cinema display if all you're going to do it surf the net.
