Speaking of actors, you guys who say you are always being asked if people can be in a movie, where are they?!

I guess when you're in High School or College theres just a lot of people around, Im running out of excuses for not letting people in my movies.

One of todays was, I'm out of male roles, I need female roles, followed by some girl asking me if she could be in it. ehhh.

    36. You buy DV tapes in bulk, just bought two six packs from Costco today.

Jeez Nick. You're having trouble going with the flow lately.

Someone posts a fun thread and you tell them to take it to the social thread.

People start having fun in the social thread and you tell them to take it to the chat.

I never thought I'd say this, bud, but lighten up!

    On that note:

    37. You defend this thread constantly because dammit, you've got some to add when you've got the time to think of something other than your film!

    (39. You spent weeks on calculating how and where you should put your bluescreen, not including all the hours putting it up.

    (40. You're bluescreen fell at least 5 times this week.

    (41. When you preffer to go filmmaking than to go out with your girlfriend.

    (42. You're room consists of: Bluescreen, 3 computers (not one for games), a storage for equipment and props, a pile of used up dv tapes, and three effect projects in progress...

    (43. You are making a notepad file, a list of all the addictions...

and talking about that notepad file, I'm about to go make one :D

I don't think the bluescreen falling says you're addicted to filmmaking, it just says you're ameteur.

By definition, "Amateur" basically means we don't get paid for this; we don't earn our living from it.

    Several of us get paid.

EDIT: And your knowledge has little to do with the amount of time you've been here, which is the only criteria upon which the consensus is made that you are a newbie.

    I feel lik AWB, here.

Yeah, several of us (including myself) have been hired for local bands/churches/weddings. This is the life of the aspiring professional director.

Yes, but it's not really considered "professional" unless it's your main source of income.

You can do it professionally but not be a pro, and vice versa. There's a difference. My main source of income is from video projects (it's my only income. I made about $1500 total last year, which is good for a highschool sophomore unable to work), but seeing as I am obviously not a hotshot hollywood figure, it's a hobby, but I do it professionally.

Always Two they are; the master, and the newbie... no more, no less.....

Now talking about newbies, I should jump over some dumpsters again..... anyway, any more addictions? I'm so bored, I can't work on script, I'm too exhausted, prolly go off to sleep.....

You know you're obsessed when you take a fall from 8 feet in the air for a shot:

You know your addicted to Film-making when...
    1) You cut lawns all week, and 98% of your pay goes in to your movie account. (Sad, but true)

    2) You refuse to watch a movie unless it has an aspect ratio of 2.35:1 (well ok, 1.85:1 is all right too)

    47. You know you're addicted to film making when whenever you have a spare moment you ponder on how you'll over come the next obstacle in your production.

you're always late to the movies-- your friends yell at you saying "we're gonna miss the previews" you respond-- "don't worry-- I have them ALL downloaded on my computer already"

You say your friends are old school for talking in celluloid-- the new hip lingo is all about the 0's and 1's.

When you walk around, you think of better shots for your life than what your eyesight is providing for you.
