You look at your computer clock and smile because it reads something like 4:04.

I did exactly the same thing today, when my entire class today was looking at this single computer screen at 11:38am. I got a lot of weird looks.

Also, my ancient history assignment is exactly 1138 words long [face_hypnotized]

    And I also point out when it's 1.37pm (or 13.37 in 24 hour time :p )

...when you're driving about 80 klicks or over down a road with concrete spacers on each side and you hear in your ear You're required to maneuver straight down this trench and skim the surface to this point...

I'm not really a geek. Not really. I like much of the stuff you guys like..but hey, I'm not great with computers, don't game and binary makes me throw up.

However I have used Woot in a real conversation more than once this week. And with my normal friends and acquaintances, who gave me that LOOK. You know the one.

    So yeah..maybe I am. :_|

The Look I'm not so familiar with, but Hell, I'd probably give it to you if you said "woot!" around me.

Now, the Conversation I'm familiar with, and I'm sure Kit is too. That's the phenomenon where a someone has to admit they're a roleplayer to a non-roleplayer.

My most memorable example of that was in second year uni, where a female friend of mine asked me what I did over the weekend:

"Hung out with some mates, played a bit of D&D"
    "D&D?"
    "Dungeons and Dragons"
    "...No you didn't."
    "Yes I did."
    "No, you didn't."

It was at this point I had to grasp her firmly by the shoulders, look into her eyes and say very slowly, "Cat, I play Dungeons & Dragons."

Her response was a very meek, "No, you don't...", which of course made me burst into laughter.

    Be seeing you,

wow I find it hard that some one that knew you was so hard to tell you play D&D
just looking at you would be enough for most people to guess that :p

Wow, SS - the complete lack of punctuation there melted the intelligence circuitry in my brain and prevented me from understanding exactly what you just said. [face_hypnotized]

That being said, I'd have to say that MD looks too much like a productive member of society and can easily be camoflaged as such - bewildering the "normal" people on revalation of his true nature. [face_thinking] :p

That also being said, my general reaction is usually jealousy - current company notwithstanding, I know no one who plays D&D and lack the social fortitude to find myself a group. [face_whistling] Anywho....

You know you're a geek when....

You've got your wet hair wrapped up in a blue towel, but it's a long towel, so the end corner bits drape down either side of your head. Which of course makes you think....

Twilek!!!!!! :p I have lekku!!!! hehehe

    Yup, geek....

Not so much a YKYAGW, but I always find myself amused any time I refer to myself as a geek, and my cousins jump to try and convince me otherwise. Teehee. [face_laugh]

    YKYAGW...

You pose your Cap'n Mal action figure to pretend he's the hulk and wander around saying, "Hulk Smash Rarghh..." for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

    Also, YKYAGW...

You get all/most of the jokes in ReBoot. [face_worried] I "lol"ed at that line about someone saving their "ASCIIs"...
