Luke is having a quandary. He wants to ask Mara to be his wife, after six months of dating.

The quandary isn't over whether to, but how. His friends have all kinds of suggestions from the overly casual to the completely planned from A-Z.

He wants to give Mara an unforgettable evening. He wanted to blend spontaneity with thoughtfulness.

If you put in too many details, he thought, that was just one more thing that could go wrong and probably would and spoil the evening.

One of the details was how to give her the ring: an original presentation or a traditional one?

He sighs. Too much to ponder.

It was amazing, Luke reflects as well, that she said yes to their first date. It seemed to take her by surprise, as much as himself!

Should the proposal be: A) at the beach/lake; B) At a cozy B&B or C) Over a fancy dinner.

And as to the timeframe, as revealed in their conversation, how soon after TTT should it be? A) 3 months. B) 6 months. C) One year?

 

A & C. I wish they started dating after TTT.

Post Two--

At a cozy bed and breakfast, nestled in a secluded cove (without 'sea monsters' thank you!) Luke and Mara swam in and out of bathing suits, chasing one another & having even more fun when one of them was captured by the other.

They tickled and kissed in the sapphire seas.

Luke asked Mara to marry him with a ring of entwined blue and green gemstones. He told her she was the best thing that could ever have happened to him and also more than he could have dreamed.

Mara tried to act unmoved, but she was a big gloppy melted puddle on the inside.

Only Luke could turn her into that kind of an unabashed happy romantic.

Mara toyed with teasing him for half a second by saying she'd need to think about it, but they'd been going out a year now, and it just felt right ... so she said yes on the spot.

Elsewhere

Leia, attuned to her twin, felt a Luke-shaped burst of intense euphoria through the Force and smirked. She had a feeling it had everything to do with Mara Jade.

I am not looking forward to the move. I am nervous that things will take a lot longer than three weeks.
