The most interesting effect is the drug's ability to make me lose my midnight snack all over myself.



And while I want to do lie down, I don't feel like spleeping. Give me the narcotics; at least they're more fun.

 

Did you know that ambien has been recently cited in medical reports as waking patients who have been in a persistently vegetative state?

I have bad reactions to a lot of meds, apparently. I'm such a lightweight. That'll teach me for taking two like the doctor said.

 

At least I'm not the only one who's posted while on Ambien and not remembered it.

btw, If you're going to take Ambien you need to start hiding your car keys.

Speaking as a former abuser, Ambien is a scary, scary drug. Stick with OTC stuff like Unisom and Excedrin PM. Not habit forming, no hallucinations and amnesia.

By any chance, you don't drink copious amounts of Red Bull or any other such drink do you?

Reason I ask is a friend of mine got Ambien for insomnia but didn't tell the doc that he was chugging that swill down like water.

From my experience, the only thing that's not a confirmed side effect of Ambien is sleep.

 

Insomnia is great fun. Either I get used to sleep aids after like four doses or they don't work at all (see: first post). A few days ago, I stayed awake for 24 hours straight on 2.5 hours of sleep for no reason but for the fact that my mind wouldn't shut up. I think the most sleep I got in the past few weeks was 7 hours, and that was broken up by at least a couple good bouts of wakefulness. Bitch bitch whine whine wah wah I have problems and no one else does. I'd better start drinking a lot; that would solve everything.

I'm upping this thread mostly because I still laugh at "peeps." Like, I never used that word.

 

Yeah, I agreed to take Lexapro and Ritalin, but I wasn't going near those sleeping aids. Too sketchy. I just turn on The Newshour with Jim Lehrer instead.

 

Maybe chemical sleep aids aren't for you. There's a lot of reasons for insomnia that those won't do anything to fix. Although I'd hope that whoever gave you the Ambien prescription talked to you about other solutions, too.
