If you HAD to pick one from the previews - does this look like a sequel to Return of the Jedi or a rehash of A New Hope ?!?!?!?!??

No, my last poll was almost locked because there was a similar poll - but I checked and there aren't any polls or threads with this topic, so i made it. I did search though so this wouldn't be locked.

To me it's more of a reboot. They are doing what they can to rehash as much as possible of the OT to not have to do too much creativity. They are rebooting the EU simply so they can produce it all for themselves.

Rehash. Even the Starkiller space weapon appears to be inside a planet. Well guess what ,the last 2 Deathstars were weapons made to look like a planet!

It's a bit, I dunno, lacking in vision (and yes, that is a cliché comment!).

I don't feel Abrams/Kasdan have much of a clue to be honest. Rebranding the rebels as the resistance would suggest their creative think tank has run dry. You cannot get more unimaginative than that! I don't mean that in an unkind way, but I feel it's better to be brutally honest.

I'm not suggesting TFA will be a bad film, but you'd be unwise to look forward to today's trailer and expect anything different from what we've seen in the past. I suspect Snoke will be the only radical new idea/concept design in TFA.

    Kindred spirits. Wohooooo.

So far I haven't seen an idea that isn't just a slightly polished stuff from the OT. It's like Disney wants to say: We can totally make a normal star wars movie. And that's fine but I'd prefer something new. In A New Hope, everything was new. In TESB we had the walkers and Force Ghosts and Yoda and the freakin Slave I. ROTJ gave us speeder bikes, Force Lightning and several kinds of fish people. Oh and the rancoor.
Where is the innovation in VII?
