Amph "You think you're the only superhero in the world?" - The Marvel Cinematic Universe

There are two similar but distinct ways to do the Punisher, make him a solo character street crime that he shoots a lot, have a lot of the story focus on people that are affected by him. There's actually less Frank than you'd think. The 2nd Punisher movie kind of had the right notion, surround him with colourful characters (Frank's roomies) while he's the straight, brooding arrow. The other way is dropping Frank into the superhero world and he uses all of these superhero do-dads and gadgets to basically make bigger guns, that your garden variety supervillian isn't thinking of. Also Frank kind of thinks all these costumed superheroes are punks. Hell, one time he ran Wolverine over with a steamroller because that's what the Punisher would do to Wolverine. Simple, messy, effective. I think if you had a Punisher TV show but used him in the movies, you could use both takes on the character. (Punisher with Avengers would be a sort of PG-13 version but he's still the same guy, a TV show is his day-to-day war grind against crooks.)

And I would be totally okay if Tom Jayne played him again. Favourite Punisher out of the three.

 

So basically, he'd be vaguely like the Avengerverse version of Batman, but without Tony Stark's bottomless resources or Bruce Wayne's mental discipline or self-restraint and he works completely outside of SHIELD, which means that he is willing to beat the crap of out Avengers if they get in his way. I would watch the hell of that.

 

Those panels kind of lose something without the context of Frank using Peter as an impromptu shield.

 

What?! He's right, you know.

 

Rockwell is brilliant. The movie is worth watching for him alone.

Infinity War is going to be shot exclusively on IMAX cameras.

That's not news. I believe that was mentioned on the boards last week. Parts of Civil War are going to be shot in the IMAX format as a dry run for Infinity War.

This is still my favorite.

 

You know, it strikes me that what the MCU really needs is one quality villain other than Thanos. I'm sure they'd kill to have the rights to Doctor Doom, as he's kind of exactly what the MCU needs - hell, I'd say they need Doom more than they need the Fantastic Four.

 

Without him, they're Doomed!

If not Doctor Doom, than maybe Magneto, but for that they need the rights to X-Men, which Fox obviously isn't giving up anytime soon.
