PT Young Anakin with a Maz Kanata statue?

Was catching up on the prequels and couldn't help but see the similarity. Perhaps she was a legendary figure in the galaxy...

 

I'll stick with gypsy female Yoda.

 

There is a lot of resemblance with Maz. I think maybe JJ or someone who created Maz's physicality, saw that figure in TPM and decided to model her after it for a cool easter egg to find... Deliveranze What do you think bout this?

 

In-universe it could be a statue of her race. Not necessarily her personally.

 

This is a old find but it does look like Maz.

 

Well, for one, the kid doesn't look like Jake Lloyd. 2. I'm more shocked Anakin plays lacrosse....
3. If legitimate, then why does the statue look like it's smoking something? Shmi confirmed to be irresponsible and now we know the REAL foreshadow of his turn to evil ;p

Seriously though, obviously a coincidence in my book Could just be a famous podracer Anakin admires or something.

I think the idea is interesting! I'd never noticed that statue before. Maybe it could be retconned as Maz Kanata, or at least one of Maz' species. It could bridge the gap.

Even though it's certainly just some sort of tiki the prop dept. picked up.
