Epoxy. Look at your local hardware store. Make sure it says that it will glue "plastics and PVC".

I used "Goop" found at my hardware store for my projects with plastic.

Robal_Krahl: You might try screws. If you don't want the screw heads to show on the outside of the blaster, just take the nerf gun apart and screw the screws into the pipes from the inside of the blaster.

I'm glad people are actually making props other than lightsabers for a change. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love lightsabers, but there are so many other weapons out there. I'm going to be tryin' out some ideas for a few things like a vibro-blade(or 2), an electrostaff(using EL wire), and some more exotic styled EL lightsabers, like tonfas and claws.

I too am working on an electro staff with strobing EL wire for my Grievous costume. The chrome tailpipe caps you can buy at most auto parts stores look surprisingly similar to GG's staff's end-caps.

Now if I could only find chrome hemispheres..... help?

Robal- that's going to ba a nice looking blaster! Other than epoxy, I think if you use some PVP cement (sold in the same aisle as the tubes at the hardware stores) it should really fuse the two plastics together - but I'm not sure how well it will work on the Nerf blaster's plastic if it's too thin. Just another option.

Found this listing on Ebay for plans to build a wrist-mounted flame projector, as part of a Boba Fett/Bounty Hunter costume. Anyone know if it's legitimate? I would dearly love to modify this design to squirt water or silly string or other things, if it's for real. Alternatively, is there a thread out on here that I haven't seen that details or points to a functioning gauntlet tutorial?

I've been thinking it would be cool to make a vibroblade like in Republic Commando or an electrostaff like the ones used by Grevious's guards. I posted a topic similar to this one if somebody wants to check it out.

I've heard many reviews that it supposedly works...but is HIGHLY DANGEROUS and outright stupid idea. It's not the brightest to house a flame thrower in a plastic or fiberglas gauntlet...let alone having the thing strapped to your arm.

I wouldn't recommend wasting the money.

If you want something that shoots silly string...take a look at the "spiderman shooters" toy that sold a couple years back. You could modify that a bit.

I agree that fire would be a little retarded, not to mention probably get you kicked out of a con. I'm actually working on a Stokhli Spray Stick that will use silly string, so I might want to dig up some of those Spidey-sleeves. I would still like a compressed-air powered water gun, like a super-soaker on a gauntlet, though. I think that'd be fun.

Just finished my nerf blaster. What do you think?

    It's for my Mandalorian costume.

Here's what it originally looked like:

    Nice blasters, guys. [face_peace]

I especially like yours, Jo-Nich. Interesting use for a mini maglite for the scope.

Darth_Adderall posted a link about plans for a working flamethrower. Something that I've been working on off-and-on for many years. I actually came up a very successful and safe (it used flash-paper) prototype that I no longer produce because the "igniter" can be misused. :(

Somehow, the idea of using a flamable liquid that you're supposed to light in the first place seems a bit reckless. It seems just plain stupid to put the plans for such a thing out where any kind of idiot can get to it. Anybody seen how much trouble people can get into just spitting 151 over a candle?

Jo-Nich, that is a very nice looking blaster you've got going there. One of these days I need to Post pictures of my blaster, sabers, and Mandalor side-arm (still under construction).

EDIT: Darth_Adderall, there are mini-Supersoakers out there that you could install in a gauntlet. You just have to find them. And buy a bunch when you DO find them. Just about every cool little thing that I've ever come across and thought "Hey that's neat, I'll get it next time when I've got more money," has always disappeared off the face of the planet once I'm ready to buy it. Don't hesitate!

About Sillystring: The Spiderman Webber and General Grievous Blaster both require a cannister made to shoot from a horizontal position. Buy a couple of those specialty cannisters, use them up as you will, then pop their nozzles off. Then buy many cannisters of Sillystring at a "dollar store" and switch their nozzles with the salvaged ones. Save yourself many dollars.

-You might have to play around with each cannister to find the best "up" side.

Jo-Nich: Sweeet! Yeah, Nerf guns make for awesome blasters.

    My arsenal:

My E-11 Just the Plastic one from Kenner with a few miscelanious metal nuts and bolts glued on, some extra holes drilled in the barrel, D-rings, and a power magazine made from a tictac container. I still want to make a folding stock.

My modified DL-44 Added metal barrel, subtracted the scope...
Same as above but in my homemade holster.

2 pistols made from those nintendo duck hunt guns. The barrels are made from plastic lightsaber blade segments. I still plan to make trigger guards for both.

I have no idea what this is I saw this gun in a thrift store, sawed some pieces off, and painted it black. I sorta looks like Zuckuss's Snare gun. The Duct tape and electrical tape is diliberate - I wanted to give the impression it was jumbled together from various parts. Something you'd find in Mos Eisley.

My modified Droid Blaster (In progress). Added a powerpack (made from a block of wood) and the wooden stock, which I'll either stain or or paint black, after I sand it down somemore. Also, what I like about this gun is the tip of the barrel is perfect for extending it with a piece of PVC or something - instant sniper rifle!

Has anyone tried to take one of the all-metal gas powered Mauser airsofts and convert it, or are the ones here made from the plastic single-shot ones?
