    Skins

''My absolute favorite foreign series has to be Skins from the U.K. It's smart, funny, and dramatic, and it is an honest portrayal of teenage life.'' ?NickyB

''The teens on that show are hands down the most damaged and resilient kids on TV right now. Somehow the show is over-the-top and real and honest at the same time.'' ?alibnyc

I saw the first 2 seasons - I found it enjoyable I guess in a sort of shocking "OMG what the hell are they going to get up to now" sort of way.

I've seen the promo for the US version - it looks absolutely horrible.

It's certainly different than any US show for the age group that I've seen. Didn't care too much for the story lines, though I thought the coming out storyline of the two lesbians in season 3 and 4 was pretty well done. I did like how the actors playing the characters are all teenagers themselves, there are no 26 year olds pretending to be 15. Also like how they rotate the cast every two years when they graduate college; keeps it fresh.

    Torchwood

''By far, my favorite foreign series is Torchwood. It's bold in its social interactions, has great sci-fi storytelling, and a compelling cast.'' ?Corran

''Torchwood! Irresistible Captain Jack, adorable Ianto, squeaky little Gwen, annoying Owen, brilliant Tosh, and occasionally the impeccable Martha Jones and whining Rhys all working together to 'arm the human race against the future.' Plus, the mystery of the Face of Boe. You can't top that!'' ?Yoja

    Slings and Arrows

''Slings and Arrows is definitely in the top spot, but I also really love Gavin & Stacey from across the pond.'' ?ags

''Slings and Arrows was without a doubt one of the funniest shows I have ever seen.'' ?alibnyc

This show is Canadian, and it is based on the Stratford Festival in Ontario.

Probably the greatest TV export ever. From the black-and-white 60s to the whizz-bang-special-effects 21st century nothing can stop The Doctor. [face_dancing]

Unrelated and I can't really support this, but it drives me crazy when people shorten Doctor Who to Dr. Who.

I can understand that - 'Who' is not a surname (which 'Dr. Who' implies).

Yeah, I really dislike when people refer to the show (or the main character) as "Dr. Who". The show is called "Doctor Who" and the character's name is simply "The Doctor", is it really that hard to get right?

Also, the show (and the main character) is simply awesome. :D

    Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. Crazy too.

Jennifer Saunders never fails to have me in stitches. Lumley's perfect as well. One of my favourites.
