I know there are threads that ask what favorite non-JW soundtracks, most underrated JW soundtracks, but I don't believe (I'm sure you'll correct me if I'm mistaken) there are any threads about everyone's favorite cues period.

Mine are: (sorry - I don't have all correct titles)

    John Williams:

-A.I. Artificial Intelligence: "Where Dreams are Born"
    -Angela's Ashes Main Title
-Shindler's List Main Title (do you see a trend here?)
    -Yoda's Theme
-The Dark Side Beckons, the Emperor's Theme and all ROTJ Luke, Vader, Emperor encounter music
-The Light of the Force ROTJ
    -The Imperial March
    -Love Theme, AOTC
    -Anakin's Theme TPM
    -The Force Theme
    -Qui Gonn's funeral TPM
    -Luke and Leia (ROTJ)
    -Flying theme E.T.
-The Raider's March-Raiders of the Lost Arc
-March of the Slaves (I know not official title, from Temple of Doom)

    Jerry Goldsmith:

-The Secret of NIMH Main Title by Jerry Goldsmith
    -Basic Instict Main Title
    -Rudy - Main Title
    -The Mutant: Total Recall
-Forever Young (last song/love theme- sorry I'm tired)
    -Various songs from First Knight

    James Horner:

-Cocoon soundtrack period: especially end titles
    -Braveheart: Love theme
-Legends of the Fall: whole soundtrack

I know I've forgotten some (Danny Elfman, etc.), so maybe I'll fill in as I remember, but post, post away!!! :)

Star Wars -- for the most part, the ones on everyone's list.

Dogma -- cast bloopers / end credits (also used for Jay and Bob's arrival)

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Shredder's suite kicking in

Ghostbusters - The "before and after" terror dog statue cues

    Rick McCallum loves you!

Let's keep this strictly Star Wars. If you'd like to discuss your favorite non-SW cues, you need to take it to The Amphitheatre. Thanks. :)

My favourite Star Wars cues... hmm... wow, it's been so long since I've watched the OT

Off the top of my head, I would have to say one is when Han, Luke, Chewie, and Ben pop out of the compartments on the Falcon... JW used the cue that was in the temp track, a famous cue from Psycho. It's a nice dramatic chord series.

(the things you learn about SW when you're a Hitchcock fan! :p)

So many, the first that spring to my mind are:

    Williams
Luke, Vader and the Emperor (all the music that scores the final confrontation in the chamber, including The Throne Room, The Duel Begins, Dark Side Beckons, Emperor's Death etc.)
Light of the Force (Vader's funeral pyre, both versions)
    Love Pledge (AOTC)
    The Asteroid Field (from TESB)
Belly of the Steel Beast (Indy 3)
    TESB End Credits
Of course I like most concert presentations of theme, but the topic is about cues and not themes.

    Danny Elfman
Descent into Mystery (from Batman 1)
Up the Cathedral (from Batman 1)
    The Cemetery (from Batman Returns)
The Finale (from Batman Returns, the penguin's death music)
    Death (from Edward Scissorhands)

Posted here from another thread...my favourite moments from the AOTC soundtrack.

2:20-2:55 Track 1 Main Title & Ambush on Coruscant
The Mystery Theme (I believe), spooky and dramatic as the Queen's ship descends through the clouds of Coruscant.

4:27-5:33 Track 2 Across The Stars
When the theme drops back down into the harp version (reminding me more than ever of Greensleaves) then soothingly finishes off the piece.

2:18-2:57 Track 3 Zam Assassin & Chase Through Coruscant
The pounding beat of the drums as Zam gets a bead on Obi-Wan, then back into the surging rush of the traffic, soaring up into a quick tempo with a clash of cymbals and a burst of trumpets.

1:17-1:37 Track 4 Yoda And The Younglings
Yoda's theme. Always a winner, and played in such an innocent, gentle way

    :50-1:02 Track 5 Departing Coruscant
    The Force theme briefly emerges

:17-:47 Track 6 Anakin And Padme
Flute and tinkling notes accompany Anakin's rather sweet attempt to wow Padme with his Force abilities.

    2:47-3:08 Track 7 Jango's Escape
Whirling violins and trumpts signal the end of the Obi-Wan/Jango duel, and then drop down into a very Middle Eastern style tune for Anakin and Padme arriving at Tattooine.

1:37-1:56 Track 8 The Meadow Picnic
The most up-beat version of Across The Stars on the whole soundtrack, it picks you up and pulls you into the flow with those beautiful violins and sparkling xylophone notes.

    2:45-3:12 Track 9 Bounty Hunter's Pursuit
The awesomely big, evil build-up to the Trade Federation's March, all military drum-beats and blasting trumpets.

2:49-4:09 Track 10 Return To Tatooine
After a mysterious build-up, Binary Sunset and Duel of the Fates collide as Anakin heads off to find his mother. Powerful and driving.

2:04-3:40 Track 11 The Tusken Camp & The Homestead
Sad descending strings accompany Shmi as she dies, then the oboe and violins gather pace before the Psycho-esque violins shriek out and Anakin takes a big step into the Dark Side. Cellos rumble as the music swirls around before giving us a taste of the Imperial March.

1:03-1:52 Track 12 Love Pledge & The Arena
Flute and harpsichord (yes?) pick out the start of the Across The Stars, then it rushes into a massive version of the theme that always reminds me of those old silent movies, with Rudolph Valentino sweeping some desert temptress up onto his camel, heh.

:00-10:44 Track 13 Confrontation With Count Dooku & Finale
C'mon, it has to be the whole thing. Eerie choral work, a surging Force theme, Dawn of the Empire brilliantly segueing into Across The Stars and then bursting into the end credits, it's the best sustained track on the entire soundtrack.

    That's more like it, Damon ;) :)

I love the TF theme in Track 9, but I was always disappointed at how low the volume was when it played in the theaters. Luckily, I am the master of the volume control on my home system...

A couple of cues that are my favorites are from TESB. 1: The music when the snowspeeder goes out looking for Luke and Han. You can really feel the motion of the speeder through the music 2: The funeral march music as the imperials move the carbonite frozen Han down the hall. Very atmospheric and haunting, depicting the advanced state of the Drama at that time.

I noticed nobody ever mentions this one- I mean, even I forgot to mention it before. Jabba The Hutt's theme is so good, yet so underrated. The solo tuba sounds like a gigantic musical fart; it's hysterical.
I just couldn't let Jabba's theme get slept on anymore; i had to bring it up.

Oh dear, I seemed to have killed the thread dead with one fart joke. Was it that bad? Did I scare everyone off or something?

Come on! It was only a joke............

    am I nuts?
    Will do it eventually.

oh, and the giant musical fart is quite a humorous description ;)
Just yesterday (?) I listened to RotJ again and Jabba's Theme is.... underrated, at least
