One thing I've noticed today. TPM features Padme's body double side plot, a very fairytale depiction in fitting with the more utopic and fatastical tone TPM has compared to later films. At the start of AOTC, Padme tries the double trick, and gets a very different result:

This immediately shows us how this is a much harsher world than the one in TPM, one where the fairytale handmaidens are blown up, where the galaxy breaks out into war, and where the Empire will eventually rise.

Someone's lying. But who? and when? No meditation necessary. :p

Anakin: Excuse me. I'm in charge of security here, my lady.
Padme: Anakin. This is my home I know it very well. That's why we're here.

Lama Su (in charge of the Cloning facilities) : But you must be anxious to inspect the units for yourself.
Obi Wan: That's why I'm here.

One thing I love that's not directly in the PT relates to Palpatine's hologram in ESB.

All throughout the PT, whenever Palpatine has to contact his subordinates, he's forced to wear his hood down over his eyes, to conceal his face. If his identity were to get out, his plan would be ruined.

Then we come to ESB's hologram scene where Palpatine talks to Vader about Luke. This time, Palpatine's face is fully exposed, he can finally show himself, he finally has no more enemies to hide from.

It's a detail that wasn't present in ESB before the PT.

That's because having post-deformation Palpatine in ROTS, and therefore full prosthetic make up for McDairimid, gave them the opportunity to shoot him in the that form and put him into ESB.

But it's not the case that an unhooded face reveal did not exist in ESB before the PT.

Except by shadow, Palpatine's face was never obscured in ESB.

Yeah, ESBbakways had Palpatine' face visible, but an extra significance to this scene is added by his continuous hooded face in the PT.

    Padme's outfits.

And a number of other cool costumes across the trilogy. To me, it's the PT's greatest strength.

My favorite scenes are probably all of the ones with the Trade Federation in TPM.

The technology, the droids, everything about it. I loved those scenes.

My favourite detail is the stone carved mural in Palpatine's offices. When Palpatine leads Anakin into that room and reveals himself as a Sith, the mural really helps to set the tone. It appears to depict some historic battle and gives the impression that Palpatine is inducting Anakin into an ancient order with a rich and little-known history.

I'm looking forward to the movies we'll inevitably get about ancient Jedi and Sith just to see some battles like that with huge monsters and lots of Force users and Lightsabers.

I appreciate Obi-Wan's character maturity. In Episode I, he reluctantly takes Anakin as his apprentice as a dying wish from his master but at the end of Episode III, he voluntarily decides to watch over Luke.

It's as if Obi-Wan wants another chance at redemption and not to fail the son of Anakin as he did to Anakin himself (at least fail from his point of view).

    TPM:

Obi Wan: "The reading is off the charts....even Master Yoda doesn't have a midichlorian count that high"

Qui Gon : "No Jedi has"

    "What does that mean?"

    Qui Gon: I'm not sure"

    AOTC:

Obi Wan: "It doesn't appear in the archive charts"
"But Master Yoda, who could empty the files from the archives?. It's impossible isn't it?"

Yoda : "Only a Jedi could erase those files, but who and why difficult to answer ..."

Another detail in the OT that gains more significance from the PT. Anakin's Visions.

In ESB, when Vader is on Cloud City, he tortures Han (and presumably Leia and Chewie too), not to get them to reveal any information, but to artificially seed visions for Luke to see in the past. Now, in the context of the OT, this has little significance to Vader's arc, it could just be some general dark side knowledge.

But with the PT, the whole scenario takes on a cruel tinge. Anakin learnt from past experience the power the visions can have over one's decisions. He knows first hand that torturing a loved one can induce those visions. So he inflicts the same pain that was unleashed on his mother, then psychically onto him, on Luke's friends, so that Luke'll have no choice but to go to Cloud City.

Are those meant to be the DS plans though? It's not exactly clear that they are (might just be troop maneuvers and planets) and it would be a bit of risk for Palpatine to have those open with his back to the open door.
