Come on Toon you said it yourself "we know nothing" other than what the trailer has revealed.

Disney may have de-canonized the old EU but do you think they will just shelf good characters they can use to turn profit?

I like Darth Krayt's story and that is why I am proposing (that means wishing\hoping) that his story is used.

Other persons propose\wish\hope it will be Plagueis or Bane. (even though they are dead)

There are point that can be made against Krayt.

There are also points that can be made against Bane and Plagueis.

In the end none of us know for sure and are there for holding to our own wishes.

Good luck to us all and I hope beyond anything that no matter whom Uber turns out to be that we get a great film that reignites passion of the Star Wars saga with its fans.

Come JJ old buddy don't fail us now.

Not bad at all. Here's something I came up with:

The galaxy is in a state of chaos. Many years after the Battle of Endor, Alliance leaders, including Leia Organa Solo, struggle to establish a peaceful new galactic government.

Although believed to have collapsed, the Empire still maintains control over several outer rim territories. They have secretly begun a campaign to once again reign supreme over the galaxy.
Hoping for victory, both sides seek a valuable and mysterious relic of the past which could bring the ongoing war to a final decisive end…

The difference is Darths Bane & Plagueis are canon, while Krayt is not. Bane & Plagueis are only believed dead, also.

And Krayt's story, that you like so much, is basically meaningless to viewers, except as a mimicry of Anakin's. "A boy from Tatooine, accepted into the Jedi Order at a late age, fights in the Clone Wars, deals with anger issues, becomes a Sith Lord to bring order to the galaxy."

Darth Wyyrlok would be a much more original LEGACY Sith to tackle... the loyal henchman, standing by master's side protecting him, but once that master starts losing focus, the henchman takes the opportunity to seize power for himself. That's something we haven't really seen in canon yet. The only case we've got of the apprentice turning on his master (in order to take power for himself) was Sidious killing Plagueis in his sleep.

In any case, of all the villains from Legends, if any were gonna be used for the ST it'd be the one that kickstarted the EU into overdrive, the absolute most popular villain of the EU: Thrawn. And Uber is most certainly not Thrawn.

Toon, I give you an A for persistence.

Bane and Plagueis are dead, I hope they don't bring them back like they did Maul. That was so uncreative and borderline ridiculous. Dude was chopped in half for crying out loud.

I want someone who is not a dead guy brought back from the grave. Too cliche.

Glad to talk with you Toon.

Can we really call it "remote" when it's mentioned and/or visited in every single Star Wars film? In terms of appearances, it goes Tatooine>Coruscant/Naboo>Bespin>Everything Else, I think. And location-wise, it's close to Naboo, and not terribly far from Alderaan either, given how quickly the trip from one to the other ends.

If they're going to make another episode in the series (#7), it would make no sense to not stick with the traditional format. It's the classic, universally expected thing that screams "this is a Star Wars movie". Plus, Abrams and this team seem to be bent on recreating the feel of the original movies. Not having the goosebump inducing yellow crawl set to the music would be criminal. Take it to the bank.

    Episode VII
    The Force Awakens

There once was a trooper called Finn
Who thought he would never fit in
We just can not see him
    Taking orders from Brienne
For too long once this movie begins

The details of the interim years
Are sketchy and we all have our fears
The baddie is shrouded in vagueness
    But if he's called Plagueies
There'll be equally loud boos and cheers

Luke has gone missing, this means
His friends will go find him it seems
    Plus Poe, Finn and Rey
But I hope you all stay
To the end so you can see Luke's one scene...

    STAR WARS
    THE FORCE AWAKENS
The times are difficult for the victors of the
Galactic civil war. The young Republic
struggles with the chaos that broke out
after the death of the Emperor and Darth Vader.
The Imperial remnants are still lurking across
the galaxy. Being unable to crush the new
government with the military force, they
turned their attention to the more powerful
    weapon, the Sith artefacts.
Being aware of the remnants' intentions,
Leia Solo decided to take urgent actions in
order to find her long lost brother whose
powers, wisdom and guidance by the Force
    could prevent the impending doom....

Maybe George Lucas can get a refund? But irrational fear must be dealt with, or it will...happen! But only inside of you. At least, lets not pretend George Lucas did not earn money. He was a great businessman. And everything else.....you have no proof on this movie being a rip off nostalgia letdown. Deal with it! Save your prayers my friend.

It was more a joke at their marketing strategy thus far or lack there of.

Hoping we get something new that's actually official to go over soon.

Yeah. But i really believe the marketing strategy has not yet started officially. Most of this is media created, made up by journalists who really only scratches the surface of the substance of Star Wars. You can tell Abrams was showing off in front of an X - Wing, but i think there is much more to it. Disney wants to communicate with a new generation fans, and there is no doubt Rey will be fronted as a heroine for the modern times, and it sounds refreshing to me. So lets see.

I think a lot of these proposed crawls read too much like a political report on galactic affairs. The OT crawls gave you a very brief impression of what the conflict was, then gave you an intro to the immediate story, with very little background. I'm anticipating a crawl that basically says that despite the fall of Palpatine and Vader, the Galaxy is still largely under Imperial rule, seemingly orchestrated by some mysterious figure (Uber). I'd the like it to move on to set up of the story of the new heroes, without really touching on the situation of the OT cast, although maybe some mention of as some sort of legendary figure in hiding wouldn't go amiss.

    STAR WARS
    EPISODE VII
    THE FORCE AWAKENS
It is a period of civil unrest.
After generations of conflict, the Galactic
Empire has splintered and lost control
of the Imperial Senate and have divided
    the galaxy.
Liberated colonies are now allied with
    seceding investors, breaking from
    Imperial taxations while endorsing
    the Rebellion Alliance. This has
caused much agitation in all sectors where
corruption in bureaucratic circles and greedy
industrialists lie, to whom cartel to injustice
    and bondage.
    The desperation for Imperial presence
has fractured the Empire`s credence and
have forced the Imperial Navy to lay their
trust on a sole being. One much closer
to the Force, who carries vengeance
in his heart relative to the Rebellion
    and its founders...

I believe that you are incorrect about Bane only being "believed" to be dead. As you said, the Clone Wars series is canon. In season 6 (the Yoda / force ghost arc at the end), Yoda confirms that Bane had died a long time ago.

People that come to mind for me are Jason Voorhes and Freddy Kruger.

The horror flick baddies always return.

If that is the case then let Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Mace Windu and all the Jedi that perished in Order 66 come back in fleshly form.

Let's not have that double standard.

Yoda says that, but how does he know for sure? He's at a tomb with an apparition created by the Force Priestesses or just by the Force or whatever. Bane was before Yoda's time, which most people forget (tho they never did explain how Yoda even knows of Bane or the Rule of Two if the Sith were thought extinct before he was born)

Well... I suppose that in story where the creators brought back Darth Maul, I suppose that anything is possible. It just seems that Plagueis would be the more logical choice to still have around. He was the one who supposedly learned to cheat death and everything. Also, if Bane were still alive, why was he just hanging around for 1,000 years. At least Plagueis was only out of the loo for like 50 or so years.
