Your job

As a teenager I need to make money to pay car insurance. So after school and on Saturday's I work at the local Mobil Gas Station. Which is always an experience.

On Tuesday I work for three hours. I'm in the store at the register and pumping gas with a 57 year old woman. She has a strong southern accent and tells me about her five husbands (sadly for her the last one just died.) She tells me about her adventures in getting drunk and how she has good times at her brother's trailer park in Florida.

On Wednesday I work with a 22 year old guy. He dropped out of high school and it was his life long dream to work at a gas station. He loves the station and has a tendancy to refer to everything as "his" when he does not own it. He loves talking about going to the bathroom (don't ask me why.) He is proud to say he is a virgin but he can't wait to get a woman (In my opinion he has a long wait). He loves to play magic the card game and tell me about it (even though I know nothing about it and could care less.) He has been working there for four years and if he won the lottery he swears he would buy the gas station and live the rest of his life there.
He has no problem with working there every day for the rest of his life.

On Friday I work with this guy who is in college. He likes to party on the weekends.

On Saturday I'm in with the 57 year old and the 22 year old. Fun time.

Anyway it is not a bad job. After three days I was given a promotion from seven dollars an hour to eight. The owner explained that it is difficult to find good help.

Sorry Mort you know how she gets crazy after a few drinks.
Her idea of a good time is sitting in a hotel room with her brother as the hurricane comes in getting real drunk.
That is what she told me anyway.

 

*gets nostalgic*

Nothing like a few drinks while the hurricane winds and rain comes crashing down on your trailer.

 

I'm an assistant manager in a bookstore.

Oh yeah, they pay me the big money.

 

Well really my official title is
The Director of Energy and Fuel Distribution.
Which in layman's terms means that I pump gas.

People still have full service?

 

They do at the gas station I work at.
People always drive up and think it is self but one island is a full serv.

I have to check oil sometimes too.

How much more exspensive is full service?

 

I'm a cashier at a grocery store.

 

I work for my grandma, if that counts.

 

I am a general contractor. I am a labor pimp. Except this week. This week I'm doing everything myself.

 

I'm a freelance television researcher and associate producer.

 

I dont have a job at the moment. I worked at a subway for three years though.

 

In response to the question the Full Serv is $2.29 for regular super or special gas. The super gas on other pumps is $2.05 I'm not sure for the others but they are cheaper than the super.

I'm in the military and work at the Pentagon

 

My family owns a commercial printing company, I launder..er, run the books and am the de facto computer geek for the office.

 

I'm a graduate hall director, which basically means I'm in charge of a residence hall of 192 students, and the boss of 6 RAs. While I like the job, I DON'T like it when people forget about 4-hour desk shifts or lie to my face.
