PT Your Least Favorite Scene from the Prequels

My least favorite scene in the prequels is when Darth Maul throws Obi-Wan off the walkway during the battle in Episode I. That moment seals Qui-Gon's fate when Maul lures Qui-Gon through the plasma barriers and separates them. Not for any reason other than I just didn't want Qui-Gon to die.

 

Anything Maul is good to me. A scene of Darth Maul eating a sandwich with one hand and fighting jedi with his saber in the other would not be my least favorite.

I don't actually watch any of the films frequently (or even that regularly), so when I do get around to watching one, I really don't fast forward anything--even the scenes that I don't think are good (it's still SW, after all . But, off the top of my head, I would say the AOTC fireplace scene is definitely one of my least favorite scenes.

Wait--I just remembered something that I do fast forward: the pod-race. I get bored with that pretty quickly!

 

My turn: Not seeing Maul's survival in TPM

 

The mass of lightsabers on Geonosis (for those who are going to say "Jedi exist", they still normally split up into pairs).

 

I fast forward most of AOTC

 

This is quality. On a side note I loved The Clone Wars series and just discoverd on theses boards that it was canon

That's unfortunate since you miss out on a great film.

Anyway, for me it's SLJ's reaction to getting his hand sliced off. Could of used a couple more takes, otherwise that entire sequence is on par with the Throne Room sequence in Jedi.

The line delivery in Anakin and Obi-Wan's first meeting is terrible. I love the prequels, but I don't like the delivery in this scens

 

Darth Vader's "NOOOOOOO" at the end of ROTS. That's all.

 

While I understand why GL wanted that scene, it is my least favorite. I don't hate it, but I have fast forwarded through the scene on many occasions while watching AOTC.

 

Well Palpatine throughout the trilogy was barely watchable, but his fight with Mace is cringe-worthy to me. The whole bit at the window ... yikes.

 

Will you explain please what you dislike about Ian's character, Lok?

 

Simply a combination of the Emperor being a very two dimensional villain and Ian's performance hammered that home. It was so over the top, he is really the reason why I do not watch the prequels much now.

Now I can roll with two dimensional villains and over the top performances for the most part, but when I try to think of the Emperor as this awful, evil Sith, I fail. Ian takes me out of the films. He's too broad. If Ian played the Emperor subtle and creepy as his predecessor did, I'd probably be predictable and say oh anything with Jar Jar.

Tough decision. So many choices. Maybe "You underestimate my power". Anakin had so many epically bad lines.

Least favourite scene would probably be tied for most of the Jar Jar scenes (eh...probably all Jar Jar scenes) and Palpys "Noooo Noooo you lose!" moment, just because they could not make the whole "Nooooooa" thing look more comical.

Jar Jar being a Senator is ridiculous. Dude can barely string words into a sentence and has the mentality of a child.
