<<Park makes some nice sabres huh? Have you two deuled w/ them yet? If so, how ahve the two sbares faired during the battle? Cool pic too. Your wife is very pretty.
My Park Sabre is the Echelon w/ a teal blade. >>

Thanks! We have duelled with them, yes. One of my fellow Kendo students and I have gone full-out sparring with them, and they've taken the abuse quite well. Just scratches on the clear polycarbonate shell is all that has resulted. My wife is just learning some basic moves, so we can't duel at full speed yet. But she's learning.

    Thanks for the tip.
it's good to hear the blades won't break. I wonder what your kendo teachers thinkwhen they see you guys sparring with light sabres? And if it ahd sound Fx, whoa. LOL I see his face now. :D As for kendo, I don't know off any around here I could spar with. Too bad all of us on these lists couldn't meet somewhere at onbe of the conventions.

Lots of us will be meeting at Comicon in San Diego July31-Aug4... San Diego Star Wars Society has a booth on the main floor, I have a feeling it'll be the main gathering point for all Star Wars fans.

    Did someone say my lightsaber?

    [image=http://www.zenvideo.net/ryan_w/temp/saberz.jpg]

All for a fan film. All custom-machined to custom designs. From left to right:

    1) Built and used by the Jedi Knight Kai-El Masta'an after his battle with the Sith Lord Darth Sol. Having lost his saber (and his hand) to Sol, Kai-El built a saber more suitable for a one-handed fighting style, and continues to use the saber despite his having since received a bionic arm. Green blade.

    2) Kai-El's former saber. The lower, padded hand-hold provided a comfortable grip while the upper grip provided a stable grip no matter what style was employed. Green blade.

    3) Kai-El's apprentice and adopted brother, Kori-El Masta'an, is the owner of this saber. Built from a single piece of duranium. Blue blade.

    4) Upon his return from the Dark Side, Darth Sol, formerly known as Janus Thorin, took on the name Janus Darksol to remind himself of what he had been. In a similar way, he retained the lightsaber he had built as a Sith Lord as a constant reminder, though he changed the crystals inside. Purple blade.

    5) Darksol's former Sith Apprentice, now the master, is known as Darth Zhell. An agressive and dangerous man, Zhell often uses the four sharpened prongs on the end of his saber to torture his victims before finally killing them. Red blade.

    6) Random saber. Unassigned as of yet. No backstory. Cool though, huh?

7 [bottom]) The first double-ended lightsaber in a millennium, wielded by a Tassek (a formidable sect of Dark Jedi which uses technological augmentations to make up for less-than-formidable Force capabilities) known only as Seether. Unlike previous double-bladed lightsabers, the center can be disengaged and reattached quickly and easily, making Seether a potentially dangerous flurry of saber blades.

Though not my character's (I play Kai-El), #4 is my personal favorite.

    Hey JediG,
Wow, what a great job!!! I love the fact that you took pictures of it during the process of making it. It kind of helps me, since I'm making one at the moment. I just had a question on what type of blade you used in the fourth picture you posted. I would love to know, because I'm almost to the point where I need to put a blade in mine. Thanks for your time, and congratulations on a great looking lightsaber there. :)

My saber is a Vader ANH made from an MPP replica with a newly added strip of correct Calculator bubbles circa 1972. I am totally stoked about it but alas I have no digital camera. I'm going to be borrowing one though so I'll have pics for show and tell soon.

    Next up: Luke ESB.

The blade you see in a couple of the pics is a 3/4" diameter aluminum dowel. I use that for practicing saber technique, as it carries a better weight (similar to a bokken or shinai) and I also use it for filming duels when I know I'm going to rotoscope illuminated blades in later.

You can find an aluminum dowel like this at anyplace that sells BBQ equipment! it's for a grill rotisserie!

looked at plans on the BYB and got ideas for my own. Used a bunch of sink pieces, the BYB idea for the showerhead pommel, and some fiber conduit for the grip. It will soon be adapted to hold an acrylic blade (lighted).

[image=http://www.rmff.net/gallery/Meeting%2010%20-%20StarFest%20April%2020%202002/Props%202.jpg] mine is in the top right corner.

[image=http://www.rmff.net/gallery/Meeting%2010%20-%20StarFest%20April%2020%202002/Props%201.jpg] once again the top, right saber hilt (the others belong to other ppl in the RMFF).
