I thought it might be fun to share our stories and such from the line waiting that ensued because of RotS. I actually had decided to have a journal running so I could share it here on the boards, and I updated it every so often for the novelty of it.

But let's hear about all the fun stuff that happened and the cool people everyone met. Come on in and post away!

For my part, here follows my journal, transcribed word for word from the original handwritten text, with all mispellings and grammar errors kept in their entirety, for your enjoyment. Notes and such have been trickled throughout, so here's a little legend thing to help explain them.

Red text = A word or words that were written but were scratched out.
^word^ = A word that was inserted later or shortly to make a sentence make more sense
[word/s] = Notes added in during this transcription to explain some things

I am currently in Lee?s room [Miss Lee is my theater teacher, I was in for an independent study period], waiting for the class to end. I have received a few compliments and one question pertaining to my costume. I recently discovered that my ride to the line is leaving school at 11, which means I have to find a way to excuse myself from 3rd and 4th period. I may not have an excuse. Ah well. We are currently at the 38 hour and 25 minute mark, and I?m really getting excited. Hopefully Kim got Claire her ticket. [Kim and Claire are two close friends of mine.] Would be somewhat really depressing if she didn?t. She?s [Claire] a smile waiting to happen. Anyways, I?m not sure if Fred will let me use his other Vader saber, but I hope he does, it just adds to the cool factor. [Fred is a friend of mine who was my main counterpart for the first half of the wait. My ride and camping buddy.] He doesn?t need two! And I wonder when Mel [Larena] will show up, will be cool to finally meet her. Yeesh, we?ve had two Oktoberfests to meet up at and we havn?t, heh. And Atticus, can?t wait for that kid to show up. He won?t be showing up for another? 19-20 hours. I really wonder if there will be other people in the line already. Possibly, yes. In fact, it is very likely. Though wouldn?t it be a hit if we were first? The thought is invigorating. Well, I don?t think I can write anymore at the moment, so I shall draw this to a close, right now.

Just stopped at my house to collect supplies, on our way to Fred?s to collect more, I just at a mik-n-ike. It?s hard to write in a moving car.

Just left Fred?s house after acquiring time-passers. Are now stopping at Subway so Fred can eat. The rain is getting heavier. We are now inside Subway, f Fred?s ordering a toasted, foot-long, cheese and something sandwich while I update the logs. A man in a business suit just walked by, he gave us a funny look. Now the lady asked if we were going to see S.W. Haha! Of course we are!

We have arrived, two guys are ahead of us, but they are totally awesome. They have a T.V. and PS2 set up! Havn?t caught their names yet.

We just watched ?The Transporter? an awesome heist film that reminded me of the game Hitman. An employee of Regal just walked by and sang the first 10 notes of the [Star Wars] fanfare. Awesome.

Fred and I just played a round of pokemon. I won, wee. [We really don?t play pokemon regularly, we just think it?s funny to indulge every couple months for old times sake.]

That's good Vengie, I wish I would have thought to do something like that!

Yeah, so I was to much of a scaredy cat to go over and introduce myself, very uncool of me, I know. I hope you can all forgive me for that. But if it makes ya feel any better I talked to you all quite a bit in line, infact I was right behind you the whole time! *covers head and waits for a thrown object
I was with the younger nerds, AKA my little brother and his friends. Then there was me and one of my friends. So I thought it would be humorous if I posted something later on saying "yeah, I so won camera wars." Then y'all would know that was me. CAN YOU FORGIVE ME FOR MY UNCOOL NATURE? LOL. But I so owe you guys a game of Risk now don't I?

    EDIT:

Just for clarification, I was the nerd in the robe that marched into your "spot" in line and set up TPM on my friend Sarah's little laptop to watch. (the picture was too dark, I was sad.)

    I KNEW IT WAS YOU!

Come, come, now! We're not that frightening, are we? Well, guess we'll just have to wait for Oktoberfest again or something, lol.

Can't believe you didn't even say hi, lol.

Then again, I thought of posting the pix I took with my phone online to freak you guys out and be all "mwahahaha! someones watching you!"

    Sweet! Great stuff.

I did a similar thing... but I'm also keeping track of each time I see the film. Here is a journal I have and it describes some of my funny / fun / entertaining / cool line experiences.

Well, on the 18th, I slept for about a half and hour. The rest of the time I just sat down and tried to entertain myself. Got my ace whipped in Star Wars monopoly, I couldn't land on a property to save my life. All I ever landed on were Jedi/Sith cards and then other peoples monoplies. It sucked, so I sold all of my money and 1 piece of property to my friend for 5 credits. Saw some friends, talked to vengeance and sentinelsquad for a little bit. Read a newspaper article about how some republicans think ROTS is an anti-Bush/anti-war film.

On the 19th, I had Carl's Jr. with my dad and then waited in line for 2 hours inside. I was first inline and read a Movie Magic magazine about Star Wars. My stepmom got inline about 3:10 and told me how she can't wait to see ROTS because this is the film she has been waiting for.

Tonight I got inline about 6:15 and just stood there until 6:40ish.

Those of us from the Spokane area (The Spokantina) didn't have to wait in line at all.

Our friend, Nick, bought 20 advance tickets to the midnight showing on May 1. Our other friend, Steve, was at the theater at 10:00am (on the 18th) to section off 20 seats for our group. I was surprised that the theater let him do that, but, they did!

Around 11:00pm, our group joined another group of fans for a live broadcast the Channel 4 news team was doing for the midnight showing of Episode III. It was great advertising for the Spokantina. So many die-hard fans with great costumes. Our friend, James, supplied three of us who didn't have a costume with Jedi robes so we could go to the premiere in "character." It was awesome!

When I saw the movie three more times after the premiere, most of the audience didn't even respond to the scenes which fans would normally "get." Like the one scene where Obi-wan kills General Grevious with that blaster and says, "So uncivilized."

It was definitely worth it to stay up past my "usual" bedtime and see the final SW movie with fans.

Well this isn't a in-line story but more of an in-movie story. There were a bunch of annoying people this time around, they didn't make that much noise, but it was more than the other times I have seen it. There were also some fans that cheered during some of the scenes and clapped at the end. I can't wait to see what tomorrows showing brings. ;)
