i hope it comes out the way it is on my pc.

I think theres something wrong with the banner...

 

That image of St Paul's cathedral is copyrighted by Sir Christopher Wren and no-one else is allowed to look at it. Ever.

Actually, Lord-Lice, Sir Christopher Wren died in 1723 and your images are only in copyright 30 years or so after your death. Plus, if you do commissions for the Royal family, they automatically own the image as soon as you hand it over. I suggest you read up on copyright laws before you decide to make some more socks up, you make yourself look like more of a **** then usual.
And I very much doubt he took the photograph of it, unless he also managed to build a time machine.

Guess you'll just have to redecorate the chapter how you want it. Considering LT's considerable involvement in the making of the current banner, it is surprising that you actually like it.

Wouldn't you prefer a black and blue colour scheme, perhaps with Jango on it somewhere

 

I don't think so. Its rather nice, perhaps someone could take some more pictures from the public domain and modify it. A red bus with s-foils on it perhaps.

 

Slavegirl has already altered the current banner and dispensed of the troublesome image. I'm sorting it's upload at the mo

And just for the record, to claim copyright of an image you have to prove it was yours in the first place and have stated that when it was given FREELY to the person you gave it to

 

Photographic works are automatically subject to copyright without requiring disclaimer. Whether payment or given freely, copyright still applies unless expressly waivered by the owner of the work. Makes for an easier life doing it this way round A statement of ownership was made in the original banner making thread

If Lord_Tice took the picture then he is free to ask for it to be removed, if not the image belongs to the photographer that took it in which case it should he HIM or HER that requests it removed from the banner and if it was from a royalty free site then no one has a right to demand it's removal.

Ummmm Nic..he did ask for it to be removed. Thats why Slavegirl is altering the banner.

Wether or not he took the pic himself or got it from another site, i don't know nor even care, it's only a tiny image that really doesn't warrent this much attention, if any at all to be honest.

 

I know he has asked for it to be removed.

 

He did take the picture himself hense why he asked for it back as it belongs to him.

How do we, they, us, them, anyone know 'who' took the photo. It could have been grabbed from the millions of websites available from google.com that have pictures of London landmarks on them.

Its a case of petty pretentious awkwardness to the extreme. But its not surprising considering the sources is it?
