Saga Your number 1 favorite and least favorite line of dialog

I got chills reading some of these, so I know they're good. (Excitement chills, not disgust)

Also, I really like the scene in Obi-Wan's hut. It's made even poignant with the recent TCW stuff.
"....and a good friend."

 

Number 1 favorite and least favorite lines...Hard to choose actually.

Let's go :

- favorite : "Luke...Do not...Do not underestimate the powers of the Emperor, or suffer your father's fate you will" (ROTJ)

- Least favorite :
"you're gonna use your Jedi powers on me ?"
"They only work on the weak minded.." (AOTC picnic scene)

 

These are ones I love/hate for story reasons:

Favorite: "Do not be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed. The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant, next to the power of the force." I don't know why I like Vader's words from ANH so much...I guess I just like the delivery, and the belief that the force is beyond everything. Also exposing the Imperial officers' overconfidence in their technology...

Least favorite: "Oh, Ani...You'll always be that little boy I knew on Tattooine." Padme says this in AOTC. Delivery is fine, but I always cringe at her saying that-mostly cos I imagine how Anakin must have felt hearing her say that to him, after all the years he's "dreamed" about her...

As far as quotes I love/hate for delivery reasons, they would be these:

Favorite: "Luke...Luke...Do not...Do not underestimate the power of the emperor, or suffer your father's fate, you will...Luke...when gone am I, the last of the Jedi will you be. The force runs strong in your family...pass on what you - OKAY. Basically Yoda's whole death scene! You get it, I'm sure-I don't have to write the whole thing. IMO, Yoda (Oz) should've won an Oscar for that performance!

Least favorite: "I wish that I could wish away my feelings, but I can't..." I'd say the scripting for this AOTC love scene is the part that's worse than the acting...Either this quote is my least favorite, or Padme's confession of being in love with Anakin, just before entering the Geonosis execution arena.

 

Worst in AOTC: "Believe me, I wish that I could just wish away my feelings, but I can't." - That whole scene makes me ill, in fact most of the love scenes in the PT are cringeworthy.

Best: "What is thy bidding my master....?" etc. - That whole scene is badass, in fact anything with Sidious, Vader and Luke in the OT is great.

 

Best: There's always a bigger fish.

Worst: But I was going to Tosche Station to pick up some power converters!

 

Best: "You were the Chosen One! It was said that you would destroy the Sith, not join them! Bring balance to the Force, not leave it in darkness!"

Worst: "Either I'm going to kill her or I'm beginning to like her."

 

Favorite: PALPATINE: "The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural."
Can't really explain why it's my favorite though. I just immediately thought of it when I saw the thread title. The quote has stuck with me ever since I saw the trailer for RotS. Me and my brother still use it on a bunch of different occasions in everyday life.

Least favorite: can't think of any, so there's that!

 

Favorite: Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter.
Least favorite: any line uttered by Hayden Christensen and Jake Lloyd.

 

Fave: "Your feebles skills are no match for the power of the dark side"

or Threepio's line in ESB (even though it was filmed and partially not included in the film itself, but included in the Story LP) "Please, please - I''m not ready to die (on the back of a demented Wookiee!)"

Least Favourite: I'd say 75% of the dialogue in the prequels. Bad writing and even no real sense of delivery or believable pitch.

 

Best:
Han: How are we doing?
Luke: Same as Always
Han: That bad, huh?

Worst:
Padme and Anakin ROTS Balcony Scene

 

Faves:

At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi, at last we will have revenge.

Wipe them out, all of them.

Kill him. Kill him now. Do it.

You have hate. You have anger. But you don't use them.

The whole speech of Palps revealing himself to Anakin.

Never tell me the odds.

Least faves:

I agree. Kenobi spouting his hypocritical nonsense. That and "What I told you was true, from a certain point of view". Ugh.

 

Yeah, it really didn't make any sense, for multiple reasons.

At least that one made more sense; the first was a horrible inclusion.

Favorite:

Least Favorite:
"Who are you?
Someone who loves you.
Leia-"

 

I was debating on making this line my favorite as well. I just love all of Palpatine's/Sidious' lines in the PT.

 

Favorite: "Strong in the force you are, hmm?"

Least Favorite: "Obi-Wan Kenobi, your my only hope!"

 

Favorite line has to be "May the Force be with you"
Least Favorite line is "I don't like sand, its coarse rough and irritating and it gets everywhere, not like here, everything's soft and smooth."

2 least favorites that stick out immediately, but they still amuse me:

7. The ENTIRE dialogue of Luke and the Emperor going back and forth in Jedi.
8. "Begun the Clone War has."
9. "Luke, don't give in to hate...that leads to the Dark Side."

Annoying/horrible.....

1. Anything Jar Jar says
2. Most of anything little Ani says
3. Most of the love dialogue between Anakin and Padme (in both Clones and Sith)
4. The Noooooooooo by Vader (including the new nooooo in Jedi)
5. From my point of view the Jedi are evil! (so strange and out of place)
6. The line Yoda gives about a young fertile mind.
7. "It's all Obi-Wan's fault, he's jealous!"
8. "Heyyy budddyyyyy" (I don't mind Dexter at all but this line is so badly executed and forced)

 

Love: "At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. At last we will have revenge"

Hate: "From my point of view the Jedi are evil."

 

Fave: "No. Don't you see? We don't have to run away anymore! We no longer have to hide our love for each other. I am more powerful than the Chancellor, I... I can overthrow him! And together, you and I can rule the galaxy! We can make things the way we want them to be!" (The crazy look in his eyes is pretty awesome).

Worst: "Many Bothans died to bring us this information." (If I knew what a Bothan was, maybe I'd care...)

 

Let me rephrase my answer. My least favorite quote (by Han Solo) remains the same. However, my favorite quote is:

"Die, Jedi dogs! Oh! What did I say?"
