    Sajuuk isn't overpowered :p

    Did you make a mod to allow Sajuuk? You should limit construction of Dreadnaughts to 2 and Sajuuks to 1

    the problem is the AI wont build them, so you pretty much win :p

    sajuuk is overpowered, it repairs extremly fast and takes an ungodly force to stop it :p

    okay, first you need to go to

    **homeworld directory**\Data\scripts\startingfleets

    if the folders are not there create them.

    then make a document called
    hiigaran00.lua
    or
    vaygr00.lua

    for the hiigaran put this into the file

    PersistantData = {
    StrikeGroups = {
    },
    Squadrons = {
    {
    type = "Hgn_MotherShip",
    subsystems = {
    },
    shiphold = {
    },
    name = "MotherShip",
    size = 1,
    },
    {
    type = "Hgn_ResourceCollector",
    subsystems = {
    },
    shiphold = {
    },
    name = "",
    size = 1,
    number = 6,
    },
    {
    type = "Hgn_Carrier",
    subsystems = {
    },
    shiphold = {
    },
    name = "",
    size = 1,
    number = 1,
    },
    {
    type = "kpr_sajuuk",
    subsystems = {
    },
    shiphold = {
    },
    name = "",
    size = 1,
    number = 1,
    },
    {
    type = "hgn_dreadnaught",
    subsystems = {
    },
    shiphold = {
    },
    name = "",
    size = 1,
    },
    },
    Research = {
    },
    }

    add -overrideBigfile to the end of your homeworld 2 shortcut.

    then start up a skirmish, and you will have sajuuk and a dreadnaught if you play hiigarans

    I couldn't resist it. I finally bought Homeworld 2.

    Only had it for a day, but it's harder than Starcraft for sure. Even with the map, you gotta know where in system space each enemy engagement is. Handy if you have a wheel in your mousepad, for zooming.

    I'm encountering a slight technical problem . . . any tips to pass mission 3? :D

    Thanks for that small mod, works great, bwahhahaha :)

    Just build all bombers and pulsar gunships.. basically everyone I know has gotten stuck on that mission, I was the first of them to beat it and that's how I did it. Once you do that, nothing can take the force out... bombers take out anything big, and pulsars do a fairly good job on any fighters.

    I finally passed mission 3---by the skin of my teeth, and 9 seconds on the clock! But you'll never guess what I did.

    You know how those three enemy carriers appear next to your shipyard? Well, I thought I would take my humble attack ships over to the spot they appear at early . . . but they never came at all!

    But if you move away they then appear. So all I had to do was wait till my shipyard was infiltrated, then rush as fast as I could four marine frigates to reclaim it. Those extra carriers won't appear if you do that.

    Mission four looks very challenging too.

    Nah, the most challenging missions from here are the last two.

    Hey, I've noticed something very interesting in Homeworld 2 . . .

    You have no freedom of decision, really. In Starcraft I could explore and do whatever I relatively wanted. But in H2 you are always reacting to what the computer does. Every once in a while an event or enemy force will specifically appear with speech, and you have to quickly fend them off something.

    I find that I don't have the time and resources to construct a fleet of my own. Attacks occurs every minute (mission 4 for eg.). Also, resource asteroids deplete very quickly.

    Thirdly, you take what remaining forces you have left to the next mission. But what if you have only a few ships left? You're vastly outnumbered, right? Will the comp give you more ships for free?

    By the way, are there any cheat codes for the game? I'd like to be able to see the whole map, to know where all enemy positions are! :p

    I never really had a problem with resources.. and I don't really mind reacting to what the comp does, the storyline is so awesome it makes up for like ANYTHING.

    N-n-no cheat codes at all? Not even to take away the fog of war so I can see where everyone is?

    (insert class-one expletive)

    Any tips for passing Mission 4? I seem to have a . . . talent for anhilation there. :p

    mission 4? heh....

    lots of bombers.... be careful of the destroyer if it happens to come at you disable its engines then assign 8-10 bomber wings to destroy it.

    pulsar corvettes are your friend when it comes to taking out the 20 or so frigs that come at you, use torpedo frigs to help defend against enemy strike craft.

    4-6 squads of interceptors to protect your bombers.

    its attrition :p that mission had a great many people frelled when the game was released, so many people whined it was to hard, it gets worse :)

    I've been stocking up on three types: Bombers, normal Gunships and Flack Frigates.

    When you go near a hypergate, the enemy adds reinforcements, which double the foes against you. And when the mass of enemy frigates arrives . . . it's all over! I don't survive longer than fifteen ticks of the chrono.

    This game is just too hard. Enemy attacks are non-stop. I felt that about some Starcraft missions, but they were merciful by comparison! I can't do this anymore. I should have gotten Jedi Academy instead . . . :p

    Is Mission 4 that impossible? Two weeks, and I still can't pass it! Arrrggh.

    Heh, I have the exact same problem. I managed to take out one hyperspace inhibitor without much loss of force, but they just overrun me when I try to knock out the two others. Bah!

    Just max out bombers and pulsars, go for their carriers ASAP.

    After two weeks of failure, I finally did it! I surpassed Mission 4.

    Good golly gosh, there's no in-game guiadance, is there? Gotta work everthing out for yourself. It's all trial and error, wondering which ships work better in what scenario! Even the player manual barely has any info. I had no idea docking your strike craft REPAIRS them! The book just says they can be docked, that's it.

    Unfortunate that the enemy destroyer hyperjumped to escape me before I could reach it. Oh well. Incidentally, I went with the advice and used Bombers, Pulsar Gunships and Gunships.
