1. Rey - the heart and main focus of the movie. What a wonderful character added to our universe. She stole the movie.
2. Han Solo - duh…he's Han Solo. Loved seeing him again. I don't care how old he gets (same for Indy btw).
3. Kylo Ren - surprisingly human, conflicted and well acted. I look forward to his evolution.
4. BB-8 - loved everything about him. Never thought my love for R2 could be stolen away lol.
5. Chewie - because it's Chewie dammit. He had the most importance of any of his previous appearances IMO. Added great banter, heart and humor to the movie.

Honorable mentions to Finn, Poe and Hux.

 

1. Rey - I adore her. Very charming personality.
2. Finn - a funny and original character.
3. Kylo Ren - interesting villain, great potential.
4. General Hux - I feel like he's as twisted as Kylo Ren but on another level. I love his rivalry with Ren.
5. BB-8 - In one movie, he made me forget about R2-D2. That's quite an accomplishment given the fact that I'm not an eight-year-old Rebels fan.

I loved the new characters, and I'm going to enjoy watching them develop in 8 and 9. But seeing the old favourites like Han again is the cherry on top. They managed to balance the characters so well in TFA too. For example they develop the new guys and we get on board with their mission well before Han appears.

1. Poe - something about the guy is just awesome. He's the most Star Wars-y Star Wars character ever.
2. Rey - strong yet vulnerable, with a Skywalker-esque earnestness

4. Kylo Ren - the Skywalker legacy writ large
5. BB-8: just a lot of fun

To answer to whom told that Finn is not good at anything, well Finn actually helps a lot Han and Chewbacca to destroy Starkiller base. And he also helps Rey to escape.
It is Finn who takes Luke's saber from Maz Kanata because Rey is refusing.
It is Finn who helps Poe Dameron to escape.
Could Rey make it alone,with BB8, to Resistance ?
No.
Rey is saving Finn,but Finn,Han and Chewbacca have already saved the planet on which the Resistance was based.

Doing it again after watching it a great number of times:

1. Rey - It is her story. Ridley pulls it off (especially with her lack of feature film experience).
2. Han - Because it is Han and Harrison still can do Han perfectly.
3. Luke - One of the best endings of a Star Wars movie. Anticipating Luke throughout the movie, makes him always in the back of one's mind, and the end delivers.
4. Kylo - For his complexity
5. Finn - His development is and will be part of all three episodes.
