In Typical Jello news, I've been in need of new bedsheets for a little while now but I didn't want to get some generic department store nonsense. So I waited until I found a design I liked -- and lo, I found a set with a purple comforter and pillow, white sheets, and meander ("Greek key") patterns in gold foil on both the purple and white items. A nice, regal neoclassical set.

When the set arrived, it turned out the set was called the "Empire" set and the advertising slogan was "fit for royalty."

    I guess it's fate.

What happened to that pile of starving peasants you used to sleep on?

Oh, I had to let them go. They found one of my books on the French Revolution and looked like they were getting ideas.

No -- peasant tears are white noise, like a waterfall. Very soothing.

This reminded me of this brief recap of the dynastic changes and political events of the early 1800s in France:

Finally saw Doctor Strange last night.

    Best character:
    Cloak of Levitation.

Jacen suddenly doesn't seem so crazy.

Saw these custom models today. Would make for a nice holiday gift though I think I would quickly go broke if they mass produced models like these:

See there was a reason Elsa was always my favorite.

    This is an excellent thought.

...though it doesn't scale down too well. You can't see the middle of it at 100x100 px :(

Could you crop it down to where you may not be able to see the whole snowflake, but the Imperial symbol is evident?

Oh also, last week I bought some royal-inspired purple bedsheets. Today I decided to be a bit more proper, when I discovered my favorite English barbershop opened up a branch literally just down the street from me. They're the world's oldest barber company and have been serving the royal family since 1805. They've got leather and wood barber chairs, and all the furnishings in there are antique Regency-era furniture instead of typical formica barbershop stuff.

2016 may be terrible but sometimes it's all right.
