Hank Williams III sings "If you don't like Hank Williams, You Can Kiss My Ass"
A clip from the ill-conceived "sour cream" BBM project (Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker, Gary Moore). Gary Moore always wanted to be Eric Clapton - he got to fill out his fantasy for one album and 1/2 a tour before the infighting broke up the band. How utterly authentic, then.
Ben folds five-she dont use jelly
(origional - Flaming Lips)
Most people call Springsteen's Santa Claus is Comin' to Town a Christmas classic, but I far prefer his absolutely sizzling version of Chuck Berry's Run Run Rudolph.
A bit late, but music this fun should be listened to year round.
What are you doing for the next quarter hour?
This is cool, while not strictly an unexpected "cover" or "duet". Ginger Baker's jazz-fusion group 'Airforce' from the 1970s doing a full-on jazz-fusion version of Cream's Sunshine of Your Love. Freak out man!
And here's something I stumbled across looking for something for another thread;
Cher + Cyndi Lauper: If I Could Turn Back Time.
Oh, did anyone happen to save the FLV via firefox plugin or keepvid.com of David Gilmour & Tom Jones covering Prince's Purple Rain. I'd very much like a copy, but it was removed before I could archive it.
I'm fairly certain this is one of the worst covers of all time
Angela Lansbury singing "Everything's Coming Up Roses" at the 1975 Tony Awards
Well, one of the worst covers not to feature Fred Durst, at any rate.
Steely Dan & Brian May - Do it again (sit the **** down, Paul Schafer)
Steely Dan & Bonnie Raitt - Dirty Work (poor quality, audience cellphone clip)
dont know if its already here but :
Phish and Jay Z
It has its own thread
[LOL @ Australia] Brett Lee's new career
Wow, that was awful.
The Polyphonic Spree sing Lithium
That's great Dave. You played the Polyphonic Spree browser game (by the Samarost guys)?
Yeah, it's very good.
...and I'm fairly certain this is one of the best. Minus the pervy camera men obsessed with the backing singers
Frank Zappa covering I Am The Walrus..
Not great... but definitely worth seeing..
Another great one from Springsteen:
The E-Street Band along with the Max Weinberg Seven and Conan O'Brian on guitar
Check out the gifts at about four and a half minutes in.
Christopher Lee has appeared on a power metal band named Rhapsody's (now known as Rhapsody of Fire) albums doing narration. He even sang a song with them...
And Tori Amos did a cover of Raining Blood....
The original for comparison...
Keith Richards & Friends "You Keep On Knockin'" incl. Eric Clapton, Clarence Clemons, Tina Turner, Dave Edmunds, Jeff Healey, Sheila E...
Oh, this is nice Rolling Stones w/ Eric Clapton - Little Red Rooster.
OK, where would you be likely to find these guys playing together on an Eric Clapton cover?
Elton John, Rod Stewart, Steve Tyler, Scott Weiland (?), Slash, Ozzy Osbourne, Kelly Osbourne, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, Katie Melua (?) and... others?
Why, in this pretty-much-unreleased Tsunami Relief clip...
BB King + David Gilmour, Eyesight to the Blind
OK, I really gotta stop spamming my thread...
Spinal TYap + David Gilmour (on Bass); Big Bottom.
Folk rockers Caedmon's Call covering Paul Simon's Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes
I'm going through all the videos in this thread after I realized all I listen to is R&B and Hip-Hop and it be nice to expand my musical horizons. Sadly a lot of videos have been taken down because of copy right issues.
Yeah, you gotta be fast, unfortunately. Or use keepvid.com or the firefox plugin to save them as they are posted.
