I'd love to post on topic in this thread, but I cant since Youtube is down.
Keisuke Kuwata and Japanese big band cover Donald Fagen's "I.G.Y."
Hey, that's sweet! If you're a Dan Fan, come join in the discussion here.
Now this is fun and funny. An a cappela group version of the Crowded House classic Weather With You (they even sing the guitar riff /and solo). Sounds really cool, even if the band look like they're all convicted child molesters.
Look, it's me again.
A bunch of kids singing the rather risque Devo hit Whip It...
Hilarious, possibly unintentionally.
The real Devo, covering the Rolling Stones Satisfaction.
I believe There may be one of Cyndi Lauper and Shaggy, but can't seem to find it. I'd say it would count as unexpected.
Tori Amos covering "Dream On" by Aerosmith.
Brian McKnight covers Hall & Oates' "Sara Smile"
Celine Dion covering AC/DC's "You Shook Me All Night Long"
This one is gonna give me nightmares, I can feel it...
The Gourds - Gin and Juice
That was...jarring--but fun. Thanks.
While revisiting Gene Weingarten's philosophy of beauty piece for the Washington Post Magazine centred on Joshua Bell ("Pearls Before Breakfast"), I stumbled upon what appears to be Springsteen performing "The River" with a street busker in 1980s Copenhagen. (I've not researched the circumstances.)
Edit: Though it hasn't yet found its way to YouTube, here is Kim Taylor's take on "Chocolate Jesus."
Oh, why not: Slower tempo, and Karin Bergquist's drawl makes "fire" an angry "fa": (most of) "The One I Love."
Willie Nelson & Eric Clapton (Willie's 70th birthday concert)
Jeff Healey covers The Beatles Yer Blues
Purple Rain performed by Tom Jones featuring David Gilmour
Brilliant, I had that earlier in the thread but it was removed and I've been looking for it for ages.
This is a great thread, but it's a pity that many of the videos (mostly the ones I really wanted to see) were removed by YouTube.
Yeah, you gotta be fast in this thread, or else just do a search on the artist(s) and song titles, often they get re-uploaded.

"Blue Suede Shoes"
"Give Peace A Chance"
George Harrison and Eric Clapton
Great cover of Pink Floyd's Breathe by the Shins.
Not many bands can get away with covering Pink Floyd 'straight'*, it's the reinterpretations that are more common.
* RIP Christopher Moltisanti
ChthoniC playing Radiohead's Creep
Found thisinteresting cover of Black Sabbath's War Pig done by Flaming Lips and Cat Power.
