Is Saturday cool with everyone?

 

yes Saturday is good for me. Actually finished it last night.YAY! it looks bare without any rank insignia on it but she does have it in some of the comics so I'm toying with making some.

Now we will have to arrange a meeting point and time.

 

I got my rank bars & my belt last week. Now only if the costume would be done.....I'd actually be able to sleep better at night. I also have to get to Sally to find grey or white hairpieces. If they don't have any, I'll have to take a trip to Paterson to any of the hair supply stores there.

Should we exchange phone numbers or something?

 

Saturday works for me!! I think... Somewhere in there I've got to wear a lizard suit.

 

What hotels are my Isard clones staying at? I'm at Omni Severin.

I think my sellphone doesn't work at the US. But I will have internet, so checking email wouldn't be aprob.

For the rest of my Isard girls, I'll be checking email as often as I can, because my boyfriend's laptop is coming with, and if there's free WIFI or Internet, I'll be checking my PMs and also uploading pictures

 

Okay, Urgent advice needed from you clever sewing types.

My sleeves are twisting when I pin them in place. Everything seems to be aligned great but when I try the jacket on the sleeves twist. Is there a reason for this or is it a case of keep trying until I get it right?

 

Are you also pinning a lining into the sleeves? Sometimes a misaligned lining can cause crazy sleeve madness.
Also, were you careful to cut the sleeve in relation to the fabric grain exactly as instructed on the pattern? Sometimes, even a small skew of the grain can cause the bias of the fabric to stretch and give, which can result in twisting.

If you are trying the jacket on with the sleeve pinned in place, the pins can cause surprising problems. It might be worth basting the sleeve in and trying it out that way.

Just be patient with it -- it can be figured out.

 

Like Surly said try basting it in. But just along the seams and at the top, let the rest hang free.

 

Cheers, I made sure to cut it on the grain correctly. There is a slight twist now but I'm not going to be walking around with my arms by my side . This costume was an after thought so its being thrown together in 4 days .

 

Girls, since the 501st picture is now on Sunday, do you want to still dress in Isard for Saturday? I don't know how many of you girls are 501st, but that's what I was planning on wearing to the picture.

I would still like to wear it Saturday, and then I'll wear it Sunday for the picture and change (or maybe not...lmao).

 

Actually if we can wear them Sunday that would work out too.

I know my Corran friend will by shaving and dyeing his hair mid convention, so he couldn't do the picture then, but I told him I'll just dress up as that for a minute and get a picture then put on the actual costume

 

I'm only bringing three costumes, since my new armor hasn't arrived and I'll have no time to cut it. So, I think I'll stick with Isard on Saturday anyway, steam it on Sunday morning before the picture, put it on, go back and change after the picture into street clothing.

 

So sunday then?
I'm quite free when to wear the costume, it's the only one I will be bringing because I had to finish two other costumes for friends ... oh well ... I don't want to complain about that.

CorSec Pilot- Fri
Lizard - Sat
Isard- Sun

Then I've got a fifth one, but you've got to come to the Celebration at CIII to see that

 

Steaming Isard on Saturday will be fun when I'm completely pooped. LMAO.
