Makk Domain Mezhaad slid down one of the hollow molleung worms on the side of the yorik-trema transport and stepped onto the surface of the infidel world known as "Dantooine". The planet was lush, and looked prime and ripe for transforming into a Yuuzhan Vong world, one of the first that would be shaped and made into a base of operations for the rest of the invasion force when they arrived.

Following him out of the other molleung worms were other Yuuzhan Vong, dressed in tattered rags, more than half a packet in number. For while a yorik-trema was usually only room for around 36 passengers, these passengers were Shamed Ones-- and 43 of them had squeezed into the transport, not including Makk himself. The Executor had silently protested the gesture, a result of his empathy for the Shamed under his command.

An empathy that sometimes would make the intendant stick out like a sore thumb, especially amongst those of the ruthless warrior caste. Indeed, as the rest of his Shamed Ones exited the yorik-trema, some of the warriors walking about were giving him odd stares.

He would need to organize his group quickly, get them under control and in working order before contacting some of the resident shapers on the world and helping them in the transformation with his Shamed work force.

Executor Makk Domain Mezhaad stood to the side of the molleung opening as his Shamed Ones came sliding out. Partially it was to make sure that each one was in good shape and had not been injured during the tedious and cramped journey.

The executor had even given up some of the space in his private mini-cabin to help alleviate the cramped conditions.

The other reason he stood and watched the Shamed Ones debark the yorik-trema became immediately apparent. One of the Shamed Ones, named Omaro, came sliding out of the worm at a bad angle. As a result, he twisted his ankle and, when he went to stand up, he fell forward, thus blocking the molleung debarkation sphincter.

The Shamed One sliding down behind him didn't see the downed Omaro until he was already zipping downwards. The only thing that saved Omaro from getting trampled was the right arm of Makk Mezhaad coming out and seizing Omaro by the shoulder blades and yanking him to safety.

The rest of the Shamed Ones debarked without incident.

After they had exited the living transport craft, Makk motioned and called for the 42 Shamed Ones to form three lines of 14 persons each, and then for the three columns to follow.

Omaro, his ankle unusable, limped ahead with Executor Mezhaad, using the executor's shoulder as a crutch.

He led the group of Shamed Ones away from the majority of transports and the mean looks of the warriors and other caste members.

Once they reached a relatively clear area several yards away from the forming camp area, Makk ordered everyone to halt.

"Rest and stretch your constricted limbs while I find out where we are best put to use for the will of the Gods."

Every Shamed One in his group breathed a sigh of relief. Most sat down and began rubbing their cramped muscles. Others meandered in the general area.

Makk Mezhaad helped Omaro sit down and then kneeled next to the injured Shamed One and looked at the twisted ankle.

Not being much into the bio-medical arts, Mezhaad did the only thing he knew of to do deal with a sprained ankle. He grabbed Omaro's foot with both hands and twisted it into its proper position. The look on Omaro's face showed that he both relished and despised the pain inflicted upon him. The mark of a Shamed One.

"Don't run on the ankle and try to put the majority of your weight on the other one," the executor stated matter-of-factly.

With that comment, Executor Makk Domain Mezhaad stood up and glanced at the group of Shamed Ones and then down at Omaro, who was even now rubbing the realigned ankle; finally, having made sure that is workforce was in decent condition physically, he strode toward the main makeshift encampment, looking for a shaper to give his crew orders regarding the reshaping of the infidel planet.

Grateful for the timely response, Kirtii led the warrior, Yrhoojk, back to Neira and the infidel thing. She did not want to get too close to it and so she slowed down as they approached.

"Here it is," she told the warrior. Then, turning, she addressed her fellow shaper. "Are you all right, Neira?"

As Makk strode toward the main makeshift encampment, he noticed a small group of warriors gathering together and beginning to head out. He would be able noticed, after a closer look, that they were following a figure recognizable as Yrhoojk domain Brhaak, one of the few female Yuuzhan Vong warriors.

Why they were heading out-- and why they had weapons in hand as if ready for a fight-- was beyond the Executor. It would probably do good for him to find out. Perhaps he would be able to make contact with some shapers in the process.

Yuuzhan Vong Corvette Analog Hurr, Fringes of the Galaxy

      High Prefect Ajek Krool

The High Prefect closed his eyes in contemplation, thoughts running through his mind on how to solve his current dilemma. A dilemma that wasn't exactly his at all, but as the superior in the situation, he was obliged to have some responsibility in the matter-- afterall, what good was a High Prefect if he abandoned those within his caste?

Most of the intendants had reported success, or at least something akin to it-- while some intendants had set assignments, such as in that glorious assassination of one Sil Dugal, many of those involved in political intrigue and underground activity had no specific tasks outside of general sabotage, and thus their "success" rode not upon some distant goal but rather on how well they were doing to cause disruption. Khezalk domain Hewk was one such example, for the High Prefect knew of that Yuuzhan Vong's exploits on the headquarters world known as "Coruscant" -- Drakh domain Uul was another, meddling in some New Republic affairs.

The problem at the moment was, however, with one of his agents that had set mission parameters-- specifically gathering as much research as possible on botany native to the Promise Land, and weaken the hinges of the Galactic Empire's fort. Das domain Zun-qin, a shaper by caste but an agent under the High Prefect posing as Das Meynes, had failed to report. Which in itself was not a bad thing, but neither had the High Prefect heard any news that the adept had completed his task. A signal of failure. A signal of dishonor.

The High Prefect would definitely have to look into the matter. The advance forces had already been shamed enough by the Praetorites-- they couldn't afford to be shamed again; whether it be by an entire force or by a single shaper was only a question of magnitude. From the last time they had spoken, Das has spoken of great success in his research, and was on the last leg of his assignment before this untimely...was it a disappearance? The High Prefect did not know, at this point-- there were no other Yuuzhan Vong on New Plympto to report, and for all he knew Das could have done anything from just becoming sidetracked to completely defecting to the infidels. Yes, he'd have to send another of his agents to investigate if he didn't receive news soon. But who? Most of his agents were occupied at the moment.

After a few more moments of thought, the High Prefect had his agent-- Mel domain Anor, currently on assignment at Generis as per the High Prefect's own orders, and scheduled to make his way to Dantooine afterwards to help set up operations there once the planet was subjugated. Dantooine wouldn't be completely subjugated for awhile, though, from what the High Prefect had heard, so he could afford to use Mel in the event that Das didn't report soon-- or in the event that the shaper completed his mission, and needed somone to retrieve the research data from New Plympto.

Abruptly the High Prefect opened his eyes and smiled, turning to one of his subalterns and instructing them to take the Hurr into Superluminal Transit-- Leth'durken in Yuuzhan Vong tongue, known as "Darkspace" or "hyperspace" to inifdels.

Amphistaff curled around her left forearm, Yrhoojk Brhaak's lips formed an expression of disgust, as she followed Kirtii toward the work of the infidels. Kirtii led her to a fellow shaper, Neira, and the infidel thing. Yrhoojk's eyes narrowed angrily, noticing Kirtii's hesitation from getting too close to the abomination.

"Here it is," Kirtii said. Then, turning, she addressed her fellow shaper. "Are you all right, Neira?"

Neira breathed in deeply. "It has not yet moved, my fellow shaper. That rests well with me." Neira gave a small smile. "It is good that you have brought this warrior to us." Turning to the warrior, she bowed slightly. "I am grateful to you for coming. Please, what will you do with it now?"

A low growl escaped the lips of the female warrior, though no words were spoken. She leapt toward the droid, moving with two long strides before she was upon it, a flash of motion. Her amphistaff uncurled, and, at a subtle gesture, formed into the hardened shape of a spear. Yrhoojk snarled as she swung the weapon at the droid's vulnerable neck, slicing through the machine's plating and tearing its circuitry.

Standing beside the headless droid, Yrhoojk Brhaak spun her weapon as she turned about, slashing at the droid's right knee, causing it to fall without so much as an offering of resistance. Yrhoojk ignored all else as her amphistaff curled around her arm and hissed, as if to encourage every punch and kick that struck the pitiful droid.

The mangled thing was all but utterly destroyed in a matter of moments. So enraged was she that Yrhoojk did not even notice her blood-stained hands as she smashed the droid's central processing system, ignoring the sting of sparks and the harsh resistance of metal plating.

Finally, after only a minute had passed, the female warrior stood, staring dispassionately down at her conquered foe. She spat upon the ruined machine then glanced toward the shapers. "It is destroyed," she stated, her words filled with hate. And so it was.

Kirtii watched in fascination as Yrhoojk utterly mauled the machine. She had seen warriors in action, but never with this much hatred. She was a flurry of activity and for a time it was difficult to separate Yuuzhan Vong from infidel creation. But then it was all over.

    "It is destroyed," Yrhoojk declared.

"We thank you for your efforts, Warrior Yrhoojk Brhaak," Kirtii said respectfully. "May the gods amply reward you for removing this blight from their chosen ground."

The destruction of the infidel's filth was glorous. To Neira, it felt as if the gods had smiled upon them and shown them the way things should be.

"Warrior Yrhoojk Brhaak," she said worshipfully, "You are indeed to be commended for the greak work you have done here. We give thanks to you a thousandfold."

Turning to Kirtii, she said, "Now, my fellow shaper, perhaps we can continue in our assessment of this planet."

Lips curled into a snarl, Yrhoojk Brhaak looked down at the pair of shapers, standing taller then either of them. She stepped away from the ruined machine and approached the female pair. "This world must be cleansed," the female warrior commented in disgust. "The gods will not favour a failure here." Her eyes lingered on the female shapers for a few moments longer before Yrhoojk turned sharply and headed back toward the camp.

"Yes, of course. Gods willing, we will not encounter any more remnants of the infidels today." She paused and looked up at the sky, "I believe we have a few more hours of light; we should be able to cover a good portion of ground together, more if we split up."

Medical Ward, New Republic Platform, Inner Orbit of Generis

The female doctor admired her patient's strength. "You're at Generis and you're safe. Please, don't try to sit up, it will only slow your complete recovery." She smiled warmly and with reassurance as she leaned forward to inject the alien with a final sedative. Her hope was to conclude all testing so that the patient would be free to leave the medical ward.

"Would you see to locating the napsack," the doctor said, more than asked. She waited for the aide's nod of acknlowledgement before she checked the patient visually. The doctor was confident that the man would be fully recovered in less than an hour. While he may be a little drowsy, he would likely be fit to return home, or to head where ever it was that he was going.

Both she and her aide headed toward the door, the doctor pausing for a few more moments, to learn if there was something more she might be able to do, before the alien slipped out from alert consciousness and into a dream-like sleep.

CmdrMitthrawnuruodo, as with all such disappearences, we're left with a difficult position as to how we should best proceed. I would hope and expect an eventual return of the character, though that may never happen. For your purposes, feel free to proceed as though you succeeded, if indeed you believe you would have. You may leap forward a few weeks game-time, if need be, to help make up for what time you've lost.

    Neira considered Kirtii's proposal carefully.

"What you say holds truth...separate we would cover more land, but at what cost? Who knows what else this planet has for us? Safety in numbers, my fellow shaper...safety in numbers," she paused as a new idea came to her, "Perhaps, Kirtii, we should direct the Shamed Ones to begin the construction of our base. I am sure by the time the darkness falls, we should be ensconced in our residence. Tomorrow holds great promise for further exploration."

Kirtii was displeased with Neira's words, but only because they were true and now she would have to admit it. Oh, she badly wanted to to thoroughly explore the planet and begin the shaping, but there could be more infidel surprises waiting, and she did not want to be trapped alone with one of those things. The young shaper wrinkled her nose at the repelling thought.

"You are correct, Neira," Kirtii admitted, "We must stay together. Let us go fetch the Shamed Ones and direct them. They are prone to mistakes so we must make sure our instructions are detailed. Then we will traverse more ground. Perhaps we can collect some samples to work on tonight."

Neira was glad that Kirtii did not offer any opposition to her proposal. If the truth were to be known, she would have to confess her deep fear of this great world where infidels lurked.

Kirtii glanced over at the foliage. Sure enough, there was a rather odd-looking greenish thing with bright multicolored blossoms. She has never seen anything like it. But that was to be expected. It was, after all, a new world.

"An interesting find, Neira," she commented as they strode toward the plant. "It is very bright. And the blossoms have an interesting shape. This could be useful." She reached out a finger and gently poked it. "It does not seem to do much, though..."

NaboosPrincess, Handmaiden_Yane, if you'd like to conduct research and the like, feel free to make use of the ships you'd have likely used to arrive on the world itself. Shamed Ones will be more than willing to work on setting up a settlement, under your direction if need be, while any research is conducted :)

"You do know that the Cortexes are filled with more than just weapons and ships. There are things of wonder there! Things of beauty...and of grace. I must profess that the sight of this ostensibly innocuous creation bodes well for this world we have come upon. If it can contain more things as amazing as this, our work will most likely be filled with many joys..."

Neira's eyes were shining as she took a small amphistaff dagger and cut the stem of the flower, which dropped to her hand, its petals shining. Neira offered the flower to Kirtii.

"Take it, Kirtii, and let us return to our ship to study it. Tomorrow, we shall begin to build our base...and begin to fall in love with the gift the gods have given us..."

"Back to the ship, then," she agreed with a curt nod. The two proceeded back to base camp and left instructions with the Shamed Ones to continue work as usual.

"You are to send us daily progress reports," Kirtii told their commander. "When next we set foot on this alien planet, there will be a fully-built, fully-functional base camp, and work on the satellite camps should have begun, understood?" And with that, the two Shapers went back to their ship, to prepare for the research that would shape the world.

Dubrillion was among the first in a wave of worlds chosen for shaping. Like Belkaden and Sernpidal before it, Dubrillion was first infiltrated and then conquered. Only then were the Shapers themselves given a chance to begin their true work. Skilled shapers such as Neira and Kirtii would find many ways to fill their time, as they learned of their new world and experimented with their surroundings.

The two Shapers proceeded back to base camp and and their ship, which acted as their present dwelling. Kirtii Shah left instructions with the Shamed Ones to continue work as usual, requesting daily progress reports. When Neira and she left them. the Shamed Ones were already beginning to piece together the foundations for a fully-functional base camp.

Warriors stood on guard duty while others conducted patrols. Yrhoojk Brhaak was among them, seemingly intent on her independence. Whether or not they would assist in the search for satellite camps remained to be seen.

I am currently beset and beleagured by a copious amount of homework and a summer Spanish class. I know I was just getting back into roleplaying, but trying to balance that with all this new stuff is a tad too much for me and my poor frayed nerves. So, I am taking a break until June 21st or possibly longer. I miss you guys a lot, and I know this is rather unfortunate and it sucks possibly a lot. Deep within the Tion Cluster, Several Weeks Ago

"And what of these rumours I have heard?" Jeekahk demanded, his icy gaze falling upon the warrior before him. "It does not please me to learn that there are infidels within this region who were not previously discovered!"

"They are being dealt with as we speak, Commander," the warrior responded swiftly, snapping to attention. "I have every assurance that the Tion Cluster will be ours before long." He hesitated. "All but Dellalt," the warrior dared to say.

Jeekahk stepped forward, summong his amphistaff as he approached the warrior, and, with one smooth motion, swung the hardened weapon to the warrior's knee, breaking bone. "Assurances do not concern me, results do!" The Commander snapped, his roar overshadowing the grunt of pain uttered by his subordinate. "Dellalt is mine for the taking. See to it that our scouting party is reinforced."

He waited for the warrior to rise, and gazed at him dispassionately as the subordinate departed obediantly. Jeekahk Nagakah was not at all pleased to learn that there was an infidel settlement so close to the Shaper's camp that had been set up near the beginning of their entry into the Cluster, but is was an oversight soon to be remedied.

At the Edges of the Tion Cluster, One Week Ago

With preparations for a full-scale assault on Dellalt finally ready, Commander Nagakah decided that it was time to execute his plan. Looking toward his advisor, Nuurah Looh, Jeekahk allowed himself a small smile. "We will strike at these infidels like lightning from the hand of the gods, slaying all that stand in our path."

"As you will, Commander," the priest responded. "Your forces have already assembled for their raid and are ready to attack when you give the word." His eyelids closed briefly, as he thought to himself, and, when they finally opened, his gold and silver orbs seemed to glisten that much more brightly. He approached the commander with a smile tugging at the corner of his lips, his mind set on pleasing Jeekahk as no one else could.

    Now ...

"Proceed as planned, Supreme Commander," Vroorikh Nagakah offered in approval. "Your actions have not gone unnoticed, and your efforts not unrewarded. Dread Lord Shimrra has allocated additions to all worlds we first conquered, with many reinforcements sent to compliment your own scattered number along those territories you have conquered for the glory of the gods."

Jeekahk bowed his head in gratitude. "As you will," he replied, pleased to learn that the might of the Yuuzhan Vong was not spread as thinly as he feared. As the image of his father vanished into the villip, Jeekahk turned to leave his meditation chambers, heading directly toward his command room where he gave the order for his second battle group to strike without relent.

Then, with his eyes set on Dellalt, he prepared to execute the second stage of his plan.

Like many of the infiltrating warriors, Yuman Car arrived well before the strike against Kegan had begun. He was armed with six thud bugs and six razor bugs, his amphistaff and a coufee. He wore an ooglith masquer to cover his appearance, for all intents and purposes allowing him to disguise himself as a human.

His mission was simple. With the main force arriving from space there was a need for unrest among the populace on-planet. Yuman Car and his comrades had been tasked with weakening the world, preparing it for the taking. Military targets were primary on their hit list, with major installations coming second. There would be time to destroy the abominations later.
