Zelda songs: Which are your favorite?

I personally prefer the music in Ocarina of Time. All of the temple ocarina songs are fantastic, IMO. I particularly love "The Serenade of Water" and "The Minuet of Forest".

Aside from ocarina songs, I love the music played in the Temple of Time.

I also enjoy the theme that was supposedly composed by John Williams.

The Darkworld Overworld theme from ALTTP is my personal favorite. Almost every track from ALTTP is fantastic- I particularly dig the prologue/rain/dungeon music that is rather creepy.

I found OOT's to be fairly unspectacular overall- mostly atmospheric, though Gerudo Valley was catchy and Fire Temple wasn't too shabby. Hyrule Field was the most memorable from that game.

TWW had a definate improvement over OTT- the various wind waker melodies are often better, particularly the two Sages' tunes, which are quite beautiful.

The song the one girl sings in LA (Marin was it?) in the village courtyard is also very good, though quite sad (and actually sounds abit like the main Terminator theme, sans drums).

AoL had a couple decent tunes- most motably the title screen and end battle music.

And, of course, the main Zelda theme from LOZ and beyond is still grand.

Classical LoZ theme, dark overworld theme in aLttP, subboss, kokiri forest, lost woods in OoT. Subboss, Forest haven, dragon roost Island, the theme you hear before you get the third pearl where everything is night. I also like the overworld theme in AoL.

Shouldn't it be handier if there is one big Zelda discussion thread, so that we can also discuss the classic games etc?

It think it was Marle, the song is called Ballad of the Windfish, which is also used in MM, if I'm not mistaken...

I think there was one a long time ago, but probably got lost in the mists of pages

EDIT- I did find an older one called Zelda fans lounge from last April, but it's locked and only had 2 pages of posts, so perhaps it would be better to start a new thread.

Know where I can find these "Abandon" and "Overworld" themes? I think I have the tracks somewhere on my computer, though. And I think I have a remix to the "Abandon" theme.

Does anyone know if that orchestrated Zelda theme was really done by John Williams or not?

I find the music for A Link to the Past to be a lot better than the music in Ocarina of Time. Then again, I find that nearly everything about ALttP is lightyears ahead of OoT, so yeah.

My favorite Zelda song would have to be the song of storms, from OoT. That song is so awesome! I love it. Also I like the song of time that one is good, and you cant forget the original song that every game has in some way shape or form. I like that one of course.

I could scaresly make the song out.

The best music in my opinion, was the Hyrule Field theme in OOT, especially when you're just starting out, it's one of the most memorable setpieces ever,

Walk into Field,
Sun Rises,
Music Plays,
Absolutely Perfect.

Other than that, the 'Prelude of Light', 'Minuet of Forest' and the Harp Duet Prayer to the Earth Temple are my faves.

Well 2ndQuest the second DarkOverworld theme midi file you posted doesn't sound like the original.

The mp3 is great, I have heard it before I love how the way added the themes in one

Oh yeah, I also like the music that you when you select a game on the GC bonus disk. Its starts with OoT opening and then it goes to LightOverworld Theme
