    Which weapons do you equip?

I usually have my bow on left-C, ocarina on bottom-C, and hookshot on right-C.

I guess I'm the wierdo who has
    C-Left: Ocarina
    C-Down: Hookshot
C-Right: Bow (or whatever other item I need)

and when I'm a kid its
    C-Left: Ocarina
    C-Down: Slingshot
C-Right: Boomerang (or whatever other item I need)

It's been a long, long time since I've played OOT on the N64, but I got it on GC and since I'm just starting I'm using my slingshot, deku nuts, and deku sticks. :p

I really wish I had bought an N64 though...I want to play Episode I Podracer again. :p And Donkey Kong 64. Oops, I'm derailing the thread. :p

When I was an adult Link, I always used my bow and arrow and ocarina! I <3 my bow and arrow. I think I used a bottle quite a bit...to catch fairies. Man, I loved those fairies.

I'm trying to beat OoT again on my GC, and I'm in the water temple. Gotta hate that place. So freaking hard and well made.

Yeah, the feeling after beating that monster of a dungeon should be bottled up and sold as a cure for depression.

In answer to the initial question, I too had left-C bow, down-C ocarina, and right-C longshot. These in addition to your sword could get you through most obstacles in a dungeon. I considered the other items like bombs more like "oh, I'll use em if I GOT to!" hehe.

Yeah, I do the exact same thing.

As a kid I try to use mostly the same type of setup. Slingshot in left-C, Ocarina in bottom-C, and boomerang in right-C.

Ahh, the Water Temple...that was the temple I started using Walkthroughs for. Darn keys. The boss was really hard the first time...but the second time? Pfft, took me barely a minute. I was amazed! I couldn't believe I'd actually beaten it.

Hookshot's a great thing to equip for that boss.

Yeah, I actually just got the longshot about an hour ago. Quit playing for a while to rest my brain. That temple sure gives it a workout.

The one that was hardest for me was the Shadow Temple. It freaked me out.

Yeah, I was always kinda scared of the last two temples. Same with the well in Kakariko Village. And what's worse is you have to be a kid down there...[face_worried]

The forest temple was kind of eerie too.

Yeah, that music. And those hands that fall from the ceiling have always freaked me out.

*shudders* I hated those hands! I think there's a couple in the Fire Temple, and of course, the Shadow Temple. Ick.

None in the Fire Temple, but yeah, the Shadow Temple is rife with them. But now I know how to outwit them, so it's no biggie.
