    Hey guys,

Just thought you may be interested in having a look at this. This is a zero-budget (literally - no money) music video shot on the CANON EOS 5D MARK II, which is one of the first of many new DSLR cameras coming into the market that also happen to shoot full 1080iHD video (H264 codec). I supervised post-production for the project and did the color-grade and footage processing. It was cut on FCP and graded with the Nattress Plugin Set. The video had no lighting whatsoever, only natural daylight and a couple of assistants with bounce boards.

Given the issues many young fanfilmers and filmmakers have with camera rental costs, the 5D makes for a fantastic alternative - we rented it for $300US for a whole weekend including a complete lens kit. No need for a 35mm adapter!

The video is the first entry on my blog if you'd like to have a look:

Although we shot on HD, we don't have an HD version of the video as it was made specifically for SD broadcast television.

If you're curious, here are some other links to 5D footage:

I'm not sure whether i'm supposed to watch something or buy another mark 2.

EDIT: and btw the cam shoots 1080P not 1080i.

    also your link is bad...

I'm slugging through some doco footage from a missionary daycare in Mexico, one of the 3 cameras is a 5DmkII.

"Reverie" is a clever little short: that's happened to me before...
