ok but who gives a ****? Giant galaxy, let's get some new characters we can interact with instead of "Ice Cream Maker Guy: A Star Wars story"

 

That and Boba Fett is a terrible character.

 

Fett can be awesome with the right story.
He looks cool & he's basically Iron Man in space (minus the billionaire genius stuff).

I agree we should get new characters, which is what I liked about Rogue One.
And the new characters in Solo were the best parts of the movie, along with Lando.

Playing it safe for now does make sense for Disney.

There's lots of new stuff on the horizon, with RJ's new trilogy + two shows set between ROTJ & TFA.
Those should give us the new stories & characters.

Fett was more interesting as a mystery . And thats gone now anyway with AOTC .

 

Doesn't stop him being badass.

He can fly and shoot missiles/fire/lasers
His ship is awesome.
He interacts with crime lords & other badass hunters as well as the Empire.

We never got to see the fall of Cad Bane & the rise of Boba, this movie could do that.
Have him fight it out with Bossk & Dengar & other hunters to see who is best

More Jabba can't hurt.

Plus it could tie in with some of the stuff we saw in Solo.

Of all the potential spin-offs if we have to have them, this could be the best.
Certainly compared to Obi Wan. I like McGregor but I don't see really what story they could do with Kenobi sitting around being a sand hermit.

This is a terrible post. From beginning to end, there are no redeeming features. It barely even makes sense. Anyone that reads it is worse off for doing so.

 

Saw it. It was fine. Accomplished what it set out to do. Actors were good. It looked good. Ron Howard was fine. goodfinefinegoodfinefinefinefinefine

It's time to put an end to these inane "a movie about this character can never be good" and "a movie about that character is going to be awesome for sure" posts. Leaving aside the fact that "good" is a subjective notion, these are short-sighted statements that indicate a lack of understanding about the nature of entertainment.

Imagine your favorite author writes the story for a movie about a character you don't find interesting. You should trust him to find a way to make it interesting. The movie could yet be good! But he happened to go through a difficult time. And wrote his worst script yet, not up to his normal level. Bad film. Oh but they have an excellent screenwriter, or script doctor, or director. Good film again. But the lead actor sucks. Bad film.

I'm pretty sure that, when it was announced that Star Wars would be getting a sequel back in the Seventies, the prevailing sentiment among adults was similar to the critical reactions to news about a Boba Fett film.
And kids reacted like Richie.

There's a novel called Kenobi that adapted to film could make for a pretty decent fantasy western IMO. And we'd be introduced to very relatable characters.

I'm fine with Ben accidentally getting wrapped up in small town politics. Tensions mount with the sand people, he uncovers a conspiracy, and bam!

 

I just hope this actor from the Special Edition finally gets his moment to shine.
