It's going to be like cleaning out the bottom of you fridge after a few years.

Except there is actually a benefit to the colonoscopy.

It hasn't been that long for me. My youngest son and I watched part of the first season of Clone Wars together until he got bored, and at some point we watched The Phantom Menace together. That would have been 2008 or 2009 if I recall, which increasingly is not something I can rely on doing correctly.

My son and I also watched some (maybe half) of season one of Clone Wars, and have yet to finish it, due to extreme boredom.

At least the score is consistently great-to-very-good.

The scores are great. I've never told this here before, but I'm an expert on the music.

"Anakin's Theme" is a hauntingly beautiful masterwork. I agree.
The film around it sucks, though.

Liking for your opinion on the music, for I err on the side of enjoying TPM, in spite of its issues.

For me, it's the following: the music, a lot of great aesthetics, Qui-Gon, the podrace (even better on the DVD version), the Qui-Gon/Obi Wan/Maul (though to be fair, most folks like that) duel, the opening sequences aboard the Trade Federation droid control ship, and I've mentioned the music, right? :p

Because I was so young in May of '99 (I was 12), and fairly new to Star Wars (first saw the OT in '97), I didn't walk away from TPM with a overtly negative feeling***. Sure I had issues, sure it wasn't the greatest film I saw of all-time up to the point, but I found enough to like about it. I don't think that'll ever change.

***The Lakers ending their tenure at The Forum via a sweep by the Spurs in game 4 of the West semi-finals that month (May 23rd to be exact) bothered me a whole hell of a lot more. :p

no issues from me. i came out humming dotf & demanding padme's battle dress outfit for halloween.

i do remember watching aotc at 10 and feeling lucas was incredibly cheap for reusing like the entirety of tpm's musical action cues for the climax of his film.
