Perhaps the rebels are a lot more murderous than we ever gave them credit for.

"What I like to do is go online, to a forum of a film franchise, and then pick those films apart so meticulously until there's nothing left to like anymore. For me, or anybody. And you?"
    "I play tennis."

Wocky would question why words like deuce and love are used in tennis. I mean, he's the kind of person you don't have a beer with, because he'll critique beer.

All people deserve mercy, Lord of Vivec. There will never be a revolution until we have a revolution inside our hearts towards loving one another.

In the US it's more 50/50 between unironic Budweiser drinkers and massive snobs constantly talking about IBUs.

Ever? Kevin Smith put it on film 23 years ago. And I suspect that wasn’t the first time it’s come up.

Red clothing hides the color of blood. TLJ is supposedly a very dark and violent entry to keep in tradition with middle entries of each trilogy such as ESB and uh....uh....ESB.

Much like how for IX, everyone will be wearing brown clothing on the posters to keep in tradition for the final entries of each trilogy being utter ****.

As I understand, that was a discussion about collateral damage. This is about the Rebels pointless and weird preference for murder.

You're right, wocky, the Rebels should have used the stun setting in Yavin, when they were flying around in starfighters trying to destroy the Death Star before it destroyed them. Or Hoth, when they were making a hasty retreat in the face of a large landing force. Or Endor, when they were vastly outnumbered. They could have stunned the stormtroopers and the officers, meticulously disarmed them, built POW camps, carried the stunned Imperials inside the enclosures, posted guards, all while dealing with the Imperials' still-conscious comrades trying to kill them. Makes sense.

To heck with the rebels, what about the Jedi? They have even less reason to use lethal force, so why don't they carry stun blasters? And they're the ones going about professing the value of all life, etc.

Did they? They mostly seem to talk a lot about personal aestheticism.

Vehicular engagement is another thing. But given the whole battle of Endor lasted less than an afternoon, I don’t see why you wouldn’t use stun. That’s more or less the perfect circumstance.Especially once you consider that they didn’t have to hold any territory, just destroy a shield generator and leave.

The thing is, we have no evidence disabling things is more difficult or time-consuming than just destroying them. If anything, ion cannons and stun settings seem to take people out of action faster.

Also, there is no reason why people who fall from a great height shouldn't fall in a pool.

Hitting the surface of the water from a great height actually kills you due to surface tension, etc etc.
