Eh, giving VLM the benefit of the doubt (and you know I don't do that lightly), it seems to me that the reason the site quoted that is that it's the most prominent case of a Rolling Stone debunked story.

 

And they just lost a huge lawsuit as a result of that story.

 

The Rolling Stones article has a nice set of interviews from the major players. Ridley's comments in the interview are direct quotes and seem straightforward. After the third ST film, Star Wars will have completed her character's story, and it will be time for her to movie onward, as they probably don't say in the biz.

In all seriousness, maybe Disney is doing a new separate trilogy with the intention of allowing Daisy and her fellow stars to age 10 years and then bring her back for episodes 10-12 in the year 2027. Maybe something that George Lucas should have done with Harrison, Carrie, and Mark in 1993 to continue the story of Han, Leia, and Luke with the new generation of heroes and villains. Then Disney could create a new animated cartoon with stories that take place in the 10 year gap between episode 9 and 10.

 

No. Just...no.

 

Maybe Star Wars films should just be replaced with someone in costume yelling "BUY OUR TOYS" for 90 minutes. Honestly sounds less insufferable.

Presumably they’ll need a caveat at the bottom that said toys are explained by a series of tie-in novels.

 

I miss the days when we were discussing how Chewbacca is not Han's slave.

 

There is meant to be an alien invasion in 2024, so there is no point waiting to late 2020s to release another trilogy. We will all be enslaved and erecting pyramids to enjoy the wonderful milk of Hollywood entertainment.

 

This thread remains the worst Star Wars thread on the boards, and that's saying something considering the entire SWC still exists.

i can't remember the last time i looked at any other star wars thread. the only things that really stick out in my memory about posting in the star wars forums are getting yelled at by mods for trying to be funny and being surrounded by overly sincere noobs. if it's possible for this thread to take the crown as both the worst and best star wars thread on this website i think it should.

This is the best Star Wars thread as we can be honest and fun where the others are way too serious.
It is also the worst Star Wars thread because everyone here hates Star Wars.

 

Uh that actually makes it the double best thread.

 

We have an entire subforum dedicated to discussing and praising the prequel trilogy. We flatter ourselves if we think we could ever sail past "serious" discussions about the so-called ring theory.

 

The ring theory? Is that the idea that while making the PT Lucas had his head up his hoop?
